Fits Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS; replaces OEM battery CS-NKB2ML.
3.7V, 750mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.78Wh to sustain GPS receiver, Bluetooth radio, and screen during active navigation and location tracking.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with positive terminal facing outward; no locking tab — clip seats by friction and alignment pin.
We bench-tested this cell in a Fortuna unit; BMS accepted charge on first insertion, voltage curve held steady through Bluetooth transmission cycles, no early cutoff observed.
On first use, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before sustained navigation sessions — the fuel gauge IC needs one full curve sample to track remaining capacity accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS receiver. The Clip-On pairs via Bluetooth to smartphones, adding GPS capability to devices that lack dedicated location hardware. When the original cell degrades and the unit stops holding charge, this battery restores full function without replacing the whole accessory.

  • Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS fit: The Clip-On runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture with a compact BMS matched to low-draw Bluetooth and GPS chipsets. This cell matches that voltage rail, physical footprint (53.49 × 33.44 × 6.91mm), and connector orientation so the board sees no interrupt during swap.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge-discharge cycles on this cell against the Clip-On's BMS. The protection circuit responded correctly to end-of-charge and low-voltage cutoff events, and no false charge terminations occurred across repeated cycles.
  • GPS receiver charging tip: After fitting this cell, complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle before using the unit in active navigation. The Clip-On's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle resets that reference and gives accurate charge level readings going forward.

Why the Clip-On reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Clip-On uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC's coulomb counter starts reading against the wrong reference. The unit may show 100% immediately after a short charge, then drop suddenly. One full discharge from 100% down to auto-shutoff, followed by an uninterrupted charge to full, forces the IC to rebuild its curve against the new cell.

Clip-On unit not powering on after sitting in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the Clip-On sat unused for several months, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the threshold at which the BMS locks out to prevent damage. The unit will not respond to the power button and may show no charging indication initially. Connect it to a 5V USB source and leave it for 20–30 minutes; the BMS recovery circuit will trickle current into the cell until it crosses the 2.9V re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Clip-On GPS shuts off suddenly when it still shows 20–30% battery — what's happening?

This is a voltage cliff failure. At 20–30% state-of-charge, the aged original cell can no longer sustain voltage under the combined load of the Bluetooth radio and GPS chipset, so the BMS trips the low-voltage cutoff even though the fuel gauge IC still shows charge remaining. A new cell with full capacity holds voltage flat across that load range and eliminates the false cutoff. After fitting the replacement, run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its cutoff threshold against the new cell's actual discharge curve.

The battery percentage on my paired smartphone app is jumping around erratically after I replaced the cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Clip-On's fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's impedance and discharge characteristics. Until it completes at least one full reference cycle, the reported percentage will be unstable. Run the unit from a full charge down to auto-shutoff, then charge back to 100% without interruption — after that cycle the readings will stabilise.

The Clip-On feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. A fresh high-impedance Li-ion cell dissipates more heat as the charge IC works against its internal resistance during the initial constant-current phase. If the case stays warm rather than returning to ambient within a few minutes of the charge IC switching to constant-voltage mode, disconnect the charger and let the unit cool before continuing. Warmth that persists past that transition point is worth investigating at the connector or charge IC level.
