Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Highscreen Spark — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Highscreen Spark smartphone. It fits the Spark directly and restores power when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge. Capacity is 4.81Wh, matching the stock specification.

  • Highscreen Spark fit: The Spark uses a compact 3.7V single-cell configuration with a low-current BMS. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the charge IC communicates with the new cell without flagging a fault on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 3.7V Li-ion bench rig. The BMS held cutoff at the correct upper and lower voltage thresholds, and charge current tapered cleanly at full capacity without tripping a protection fault.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the Spark's fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the OS begins reporting accurate percentages.

Why the Highscreen Spark reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Spark's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The OS reads voltage from the fuel gauge and converts it to a percentage using the old data, so reported figures can run 10–20% off actual state of charge. One full discharge below 10% followed by a complete charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Highscreen Spark

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during a cellular data burst or screen-on peak draw — faster than the fuel gauge expects. The phone shuts down before the reported percentage reaches zero because the cell cannot sustain voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold under that current spike. It is not a cell defect; it is the fuel gauge working from a miscalibrated baseline. Run one full discharge-charge cycle and let the reported percentage stabilise above 5% before the next charge — the shutdown threshold should move back to below 10%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Highscreen Spark won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage, which cuts all output to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally. If the screen shows nothing after 45 minutes on a wall adapter, check that the charging cable is not the fault by swapping it.

Fast charging stopped working on the Highscreen Spark after I put the new battery in — standard charging still works fine.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB handshake for higher-current charging can fail because the charge IC re-evaluates the cell's impedance before accepting elevated current. The phone defaults to standard 5V/1A charging as a safety fallback. Run one complete charge at standard speed, then unplug and reconnect — the charge IC should renegotiate the higher-current profile once it has a baseline impedance reading from the new cell.

The battery percentage on my Highscreen Spark jumps around erratically — it showed 60%, dropped to 31% in two minutes, then jumped back to 45%.

Erratic percentage jumps mean the fuel gauge IC is interpolating voltage against a discharge curve that does not match the new cell's chemistry profile. The coulomb counter has not yet accumulated enough cycle data to correct its estimates in real time. Discharge the phone to below 10% using normal screen-on use, then charge uninterrupted to 100% and leave it on charge for a further 15 minutes after the indicator shows full — this gives the IC a complete charge curve reference to anchor future readings.
