Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Xenium E350 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB1600EWML)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 1500mAh (5.55Wh) for the Philips Xenium E350 flip phone. It replaces OEM part AB1600EWML and fits directly into the E350's battery compartment. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge between uses.

  • Xenium E350 fit: The E350 uses a dedicated single-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector keyed to AB1600EWML. This replacement matches that connector, voltage rail, and BMS communication pins — no modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the E350 platform. The BMS accepted charge without triggering protection cutoffs, and the fuel gauge IC registered the cell correctly after a full conditioning cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before enabling any fast charge mode. This lets the E350's coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve, reducing percentage-reporting errors on early cycles.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xenium E350

The E350's modem radio draws a sharp current spike during active calls. If the replacement cell has higher internal impedance than the original, voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load — even when the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. This is a voltage-cliff failure, not a capacity failure. The fix is to complete two or three full discharge cycles so the BMS can map the cell's actual voltage curve. After conditioning, shutdowns under load at 20–30% should stop.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The E350's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell with a different impedance profile will cause the IC to misread state-of-charge — typically reporting 100% too quickly or dropping percentage in large jumps. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full uninterrupted discharge until the phone shuts down, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Philips Xenium E350 powers off suddenly during a call even though it still shows 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

This is a voltage-sag shutdown, not a capacity defect. During a call, the modem draws a current spike that the new cell — with slightly higher impedance than a worn-in cell — cannot sustain without voltage dropping below the BMS cutoff. Complete three full discharge-charge cycles to condition the cell and let the BMS map the voltage curve. After conditioning, measure open-circuit voltage after a full charge — it should read 4.1–4.2V.

The battery percentage on my E350 jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — it went from 60% to 15% in minutes.

The fuel gauge IC on the E350 is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell with a different internal resistance profile throws off the coulomb counter, causing large percentage jumps. Run one complete, uninterrupted discharge until the phone shuts off, then charge fully to 100% without removing the phone from charge early. That single cycle resets the IC's learned curve and stabilises percentage reporting.

My E350 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for several months — is it dead?

A Li-ion cell stored for months can self-discharge below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not power on from this state because the BMS blocks current until the cell voltage recovers. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage crosses approximately 3.0V, the BMS re-initialises and normal charging resumes.
