Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honor Magic 5 Pro — 3.86V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB526881EHC)
This 3.86V Li-Polymer battery carries OEM part number HB526881EHC and fits the Honor Magic 5 Pro, including variants PGT-AN10 and PGT-AN20. Capacity is 5350mAh (20.65Wh), matching the original cell specification. It replaces a degraded original cell when charge capacity has dropped noticeably or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- PGT-AN10 and PGT-AN20 compatibility: Both hardware variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The fuel gauge IC on each board reads cell data from the same register map, so one cell revision covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge and charge on a Magic 5 Pro unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV stages, and the protection circuit tripped normally at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle on standard charging. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference points — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings in the first few days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Magic 5 Pro replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell's actual voltage at nominal 25% state-of-charge sits slightly lower than what the IC expects, so the phone reads safe headroom right up until the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or display load. The BMS then cuts output to protect the cell before the OS can react. One full slow-charge cycle — charge to 100%, drain to automatic shutdown, recharge fully — resets the coulomb counter reference and eliminates the false cutoff.
USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
Honor's proprietary fast charge protocol requires the charge IC to handshake with the battery BMS before stepping up current. On a brand-new cell, the BMS ships in a conservative state and may not respond to the fast charge negotiation request on the first charge attempt. Plug into the original Honor charger, not a third-party USB-PD adapter, and allow the first cycle to complete at whatever rate the charger establishes. By the second charge cycle, the BMS handshake completes normally and full fast charge current resumes — confirm this by checking that the phone displays the fast charging indicator within 30 seconds of connection.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Honor Magic 5 Pro powers on after fitting the new battery but the percentage jumps around — shows 60%, then drops to 40% a few minutes later. What's wrong?
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. It doesn't yet know where the new cell's voltage sits at each state-of-charge point, so the coulomb counter makes large corrections whenever load changes. Run one full cycle — charge to 100% on standard (non-fast) charging, use the phone until it shuts off automatically, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After that cycle the IC locks in the new reference curve and percentage readings stabilise.
The Magic 5 Pro won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before installation — screen stays black even on the charger.
A cell that sat in storage at low charge can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers the BMS lockout to prevent further discharge damage. The BMS will not pass current to the phone until the cell recovers above the recovery threshold. Connect the phone to the original Honor charger and leave it for 20–40 minutes without pressing any buttons — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell at a low recovery current rate until the BMS unlocks. Once cell voltage climbs above roughly 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.
The phone feels warm near the back where the battery sits during the first few charges after replacement. Is the new cell faulty?
This is normal on a new high-impedance cell during the first two or three charge cycles. A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a cell that has been cycled, so the charge IC dissipates a small amount of extra energy as heat while it works through the CC stage. The warmth should noticeably reduce after the second full charge cycle as internal resistance settles. If the phone stays hot to the touch or the charger disconnects early after three full cycles, check that the phone's rear cover is fully seated — a lifted cover traps heat and can trigger the thermal sensor cutoff.
