Fits iBaby Q9, Q9II, and Q9M smartphones; replaces original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
Voltage rated 3.7V at 750mAh capacity delivers 2.78Wh total energy for calling, messaging, and app runtime.
Connector matches OEM slot; physical dimensions 46.20 x 34.14 x 5.68mm; seats flush without modification.
We ran full discharge cycles on the Q9 platform; BMS initialized correctly and fuel gauge tracked cell voltage curve without early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

iBaby Q9 / Q9Ⅱ / Q9M — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh (2.78Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the iBaby Q9, Q9Ⅱ, and Q9M smartphones. It slots into the original battery compartment and restores the voltage supply the phone needs to run calls, messaging, and background app processes. Use the Capacity figure from this listing — 750mAh — not estimates from third-party sources.

  • Q9, Q9Ⅱ, and Q9M fit: All three models share the same 3.7V battery rail, physical footprint (46.20 × 34.14 × 5.68mm), and connector pinout. One cell covers all three variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge current without tripping, held the voltage rail steady under screen and modem load, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On the first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging starts.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the Q9's modem or screen pulls current, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects, and the phone cuts power before the reported percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty battery — it is an uncalibrated gauge. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the IC rewrites its reference curve. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Phone will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage drops below 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to the power button at all. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes before pressing power. The charge IC needs a brief trickle current phase to bring the cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold of approximately 2.9V before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iBaby Q9 shuts off at around 25% battery — is the new cell defective?

It is not defective. The fuel gauge IC on the Q9 is still reading the discharge curve of the old cell, so it miscalculates the remaining voltage under modem or screen load and triggers shutdown early. Run one full discharge — let the phone power off on its own — then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual voltage curve.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement battery — what happened?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the Q9's charge IC defaults to standard current until it handshakes with the new BMS. This is normal behaviour. Plug into the original charger and let the first cycle complete at standard rate. Fast charge typically resumes from the second cycle onward once the charge IC confirms BMS parameters.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging after the swap — should I be concerned?

Some warmth during the first few charge cycles is expected. A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat until the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger disconnects unexpectedly, check that the connector is fully seated — a partial contact raises resistance at the pin level and generates additional heat. Normal operating temperature stabilises after two to three full cycles.
