Fits GPS Tracker GT102 and TK102 trackers; replaces original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
3.7V, 750mAh capacity delivers 2.78Wh — sufficient for continuous GPS transmission and data logging cycles without mid-shift power loss.
Connector slides straight into the factory slot with no polarity reversal possible; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted.
We bench-tested the BMS on discharge cycles; voltage regulation stayed flat until final 5%, then cutoff triggered cleanly at load.
On first power-on after installation, let the tracker complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle before returning to active GPS duty — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve and eliminates false low-battery warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GPS Tracker GT102 / TK102 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 750mAh (2.78Wh) Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the GPS Tracker GT102 and TK102 portable tracking units. Both devices use the same compact battery format — 46.20 × 34.14 × 5.68mm — with a matching connector and BMS profile. When the original cell degrades, GPS signal transmission and data logging become intermittent or stop altogether.

  • GT102 and TK102 compatibility: Both trackers share the same PCB layout, connector pinout, and voltage rail. One replacement cell covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GT102 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge handshake correctly, held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold, and logged no overcurrent faults during GPS burst transmissions.
  • First cycle after swap: After fitting this cell, let the tracker run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before leaving it on continuous standby. The onboard fuel gauge IC calibrates its state-of-charge reading against the actual discharge curve — skipping this step causes the device to report inaccurate charge levels and may trigger early low-battery shutdowns.

Why the GT102 cuts out during active GPS transmission

GPS burst transmissions pull a short but sharp current spike from the cell. A degraded or deeply discharged cell cannot sustain voltage under that load, so the BMS trips the output to protect the cell. The result looks like a random shutdown rather than a flat battery. A fresh cell with sufficient internal resistance tolerance handles the spike without the BMS intervening. If the new cell still cuts out on the first few transmissions, complete one full charge cycle — the BMS stabilises once the cell is fully conditioned.

Tracker not powering on after sitting in storage

Li-ion cells stored below roughly 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout — the protection circuit opens and blocks all output to prevent further cell damage. Plugging the tracker into USB may show no response and no charging indicator. Connect it to a stable 5V USB source and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes — most BMS circuits on these cells include a trickle pre-charge path that slowly recovers the cell voltage before re-enabling full charge current. If the cell recovers, charge it fully before use and confirm the fuel gauge reads correctly at 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GT102 shuts off suddenly even though the app still shows 25% battery — what's causing that?

That's a voltage cliff failure. The cell can no longer hold voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold when the GPS radio fires a transmission burst, even though the fuel gauge IC still reports charge remaining. The reported percentage is based on a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell — it no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage behaviour. Run one full discharge-to-charge cycle after fitting the replacement so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the correct curve.

My GT102 battery percentage keeps jumping around erratically after I put in the new cell — is the battery faulty?

It's not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still running calculations against the old cell's stored discharge profile. After a cell swap, the coulomb counter hasn't yet mapped the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve, so reported percentages can jump several points between readings. One complete discharge down to device shutoff, followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 4.2V, resets the reference curve. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

The TK102 won't take a charge at all after the battery was left flat for several weeks — nothing lights up when I plug it in.

A cell left fully discharged for weeks drops below the BMS reactivation threshold — typically under 2.5V — and the protection circuit locks out all charge current. The device shows no sign of life because the BMS is blocking input. Connect it to a 5V USB source and leave it connected without interruption for at least 30 minutes. The trickle pre-charge path on the BMS will slowly raise cell voltage until the circuit re-enables full charging. Once the charge indicator activates, continue to a full charge before using the tracker.
