Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG 7070 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh (2.96Wh) lithium-ion cell for the LG 7070 smartphone. It fits directly into the 7070's battery bay and connects via the original contact plate. Use this when the existing cell no longer holds charge or fails to power the phone through normal use.

  • LG 7070 fit: The 7070 runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture with a direct contact connector. This cell matches that voltage rail and contact layout, so the phone's charge IC and fuel gauge can communicate with the new cell correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirmed BMS handshake with the host device, and verified the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a fault state.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the LG 7070 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The LG 7070 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its capacity model from previous charge and discharge cycles. When you swap in a new cell, that model no longer matches the real discharge curve of the replacement. The IC reads voltage and makes inaccurate state-of-charge calculations until it has observed at least one full cycle. Run the phone from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or screen load pulls enough current to cause a voltage cliff — a rapid voltage drop the cell cannot sustain under that draw. The BMS interprets this as a critically low cell voltage and cuts power to protect the cell. It is most common before the fuel gauge IC has completed its first full calibration cycle. Complete one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging, then check whether the shutdowns stop — the gauge should then track the actual cell voltage more accurately and avoid premature cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LG 7070 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Most likely the cell dropped below the BMS lockout threshold, typically around 2.5V, during storage. At that voltage the BMS cuts all output to prevent cell damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the phone shows no charging indicator at all after that period, try a different cable and adapter before drawing any conclusions about the cell itself.

The LG 7070's battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then suddenly 70%, then drops to 10%.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and its internal model is not yet accurate. This is expected behaviour in the first few cycles after a cell swap. Run the phone from a full charge down to automatic shutdown without interruption, then charge to 100% without removing the cable early. After one or two complete cycles the coulomb counter stabilises and the percentage readings settle.

Fast charging stopped working after I put in the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes rejects the proprietary fast-charge handshake because the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed an initial communication exchange with the host. Use a standard 5V charger for the first full charge cycle. After that cycle completes, reconnect your fast charger — the IC typically accepts the higher-current protocol once it has logged one baseline charge session with the new cell.
