Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympia Happy II / 2218 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICP423450)
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell for the Olympia Happy II and 2218 mobile phones. It replaces OEM part ICP423450 when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power the handset. Dimensions are 53.35 × 36.80 × 4.50mm — verify against your existing cell before fitting.
- Happy II and 2218 compatibility: Both models share the same PCB connector, cell footprint, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake is identical across the two, so this cell fits either without hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Happy II platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and protection cutoffs triggered correctly at both low-voltage and over-charge thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after fitting, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Olympia Happy II after a cell swap
This happens because the phone's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with near-empty, it pulls the shutdown signal even though real capacity remains. The fix is a full uninterrupted discharge to auto-off, followed by a full charge without interruption. After one complete cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage readout stabilises.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage and will not pass current to the phone. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB hub — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. Most BMS circuits on this class of phone require a trickle pre-charge pulse to exit lockout before normal charging can resume. If the charge LED does not activate within 30 minutes, check the charger output is at least 5V 500mA.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Olympia Happy II shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
The cell itself is almost certainly fine. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it triggers shutdown at the wrong voltage point on the new cell. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to auto-off, then charge to 100% without stopping. After that single cycle the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my Happy II jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — it skipped from 60% to 34% in seconds.
Erratic percentage jumps mean the fuel gauge IC is still recalibrating. The old cell had a worn discharge curve; the new cell presents a different voltage-to-capacity relationship, and the IC is interpolating badly until it has a clean reference cycle. Do one full discharge to phone-off followed by a full charge to 100%. The IC uses that cycle to anchor its internal table and the jumping stops.
The Olympia Happy II feels warm near the battery area for the first few charge cycles after fitting — is something wrong?
A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a conditioned one, so the charge IC pushes a little more energy as heat during the first cycles. This is normal and reduces after two to three full charge cycles as impedance settles. If the phone feels uncomfortably hot to the touch or the warmth continues past the third full charge, check that the charge IC is not being driven by a high-current charger rated above 5V 1A — use a standard 5V 500mA–1A adapter for the first few cycles.
