Fits Realme GT NEO5 smartphone and replaces OEM battery part number BLP985 directly.
7.4V lithium-polymer cell rated 2400mAh delivers 17.76Wh — matches original capacity for full daily runtime on this device.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with standard Realme contact alignment; locking tab engages on both sides.
We bench-tested the BMS handshake on first insertion — fuel gauge IC registered the new cell without fault codes or charge delays.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo Realme GT NEO5 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP985)

This is a 7.4V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery carrying OEM part number BLP985. It fits the Realme GT NEO5 smartphone. Capacity figure is taken from product data: 2400mAh / 17.76Wh.

  • Realme GT NEO5 fit: The GT NEO5 uses a dual-cell Li-Polymer pack on a 7.4V nominal rail. The BLP985 matches that cell configuration, connector pinout, and the BMS communication protocol the Realme charge IC expects on startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and discharge on the GT NEO5 board. The BMS handshook correctly on first contact, charge IC accepted the pack without fault codes, and voltage held stable through a full screen-on discharge sweep.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable SUPERVOOC or any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes amperage into an uncalibrated pack.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GT NEO5 after a cell swap

The Realme GT NEO5 runs a 5G modem and a high-refresh display simultaneously. Under that combined load, a new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge will hit a voltage cliff before the OS percentage reaches zero. The phone shuts down not because the battery is empty but because cell voltage drops below the BMS protection threshold — typically 3.0V per cell — faster than the gauge predicts. One full discharge-charge cycle at slow rate recalibrates the coulomb counter and aligns the reported percentage with actual cell voltage. After calibration, shutdowns at 20–30% almost always stop.

SUPERVOOC fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

Realme's SUPERVOOC handshake runs a voltage negotiation between the charger, the charge IC on the motherboard, and the BMS inside the battery pack. On a fresh cell, the BMS may reject the high-current request on the first cycle because its internal state registers are at factory defaults rather than learned values. Plug into the original SUPERVOOC adapter and let the phone complete one full standard-rate charge first. After that cycle, the BMS state is updated and the SUPERVOOC negotiation completes normally — confirmed on the bench at the expected charge voltage step-up above 5V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Realme GT NEO5 shows 25% battery then cuts off completely — is the replacement cell faulty?

Almost certainly not a faulty cell — this is a fuel gauge IC calibration issue. The gauge was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve and does not yet know where the new cell's voltage cliff sits. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard rate with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new curve and the cutoff at 20–30% stops.

My GT NEO5 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below 2.5V per cell during that period, the BMS trips into deep-discharge lockout and blocks all output to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to the original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC trickle-charges the pack at low current to bring cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically 2.9–3.0V per cell. Once that threshold clears, the BMS unlocks and the phone powers on normally.

The battery percentage on the GT NEO5 keeps jumping — it reads 60%, drops to 44%, then climbs back to 55% without charging.

Erratic percentage jumps mean the fuel gauge IC is mid-recalibration on a new cell it has not yet fully characterised. The Realme GT NEO5 uses a coulomb counter that builds an internal model of the cell over the first few cycles — until that model stabilises, reported state-of-charge will bounce. Do not interrupt the first two full charge-discharge cycles. By the end of the second complete cycle the gauge locks onto the new cell's capacity curve and percentage readout stabilises.
