Fits Redmi K60 and replaces OEM battery part number BM5M.
3.87V and 5400mAh capacity matches original cell energy output and voltage curve.
Connector type is proprietary Redmi slot with single locking tab on left side.
We bench tested this cell against a K60 motherboard; BMS accepted the handshake on insertion without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi K60 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM5M)

This is a 3.87V, 5400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Redmi K60 smartphone. It carries OEM part number BM5M and fits directly into the K60's battery bay. Capacity is rated at 20.9Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • Redmi K60 fit: The K60 uses a dedicated battery bay sized for the BM5M form factor — 88.60 x 65.00 x 5.10mm. The connector pinout and BMS communication lines match the K60's charge IC, so the fuel gauge IC can read the cell state correctly once calibrated.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the K60 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, and the coulomb counter tracked state-of-charge without dropout or false full-charge flags on the first complete cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first session.

Why the K60 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The K60's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC reads voltage and maps it to the old curve, producing percentage values that are off by 10–20%. One full slow-rate discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to re-anchor its calibration to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under high instantaneous load — typically the modem during a call or the display at peak brightness — while the fuel gauge still reports 20–30% remaining. The old discharge curve told the IC that 3.6V meant 25% charge; with a new cell whose voltage curve sits differently, the real cut-off voltage arrives earlier than the IC expects. Run one complete calibration cycle first. If shutdown persists below 25%, check that the connector is fully seated — a high-resistance contact causes voltage sag under load and triggers BMS cutoff at 3.5V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The K60 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks — is it dead?

The BM5M's BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. If the cell self-discharged into that range during storage, the BMS will block normal power-on. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the charge IC raises the cell voltage above the BMS recovery threshold, the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working immediately after fitting the replacement BM5M — standard charging still works fine.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the K60's USB-PD and proprietary fast-charge protocol stack re-negotiates with the new cell's BMS. Some BMS units require one complete standard-rate charge cycle before they broadcast the correct charge-acceptance parameters back to the charge IC. Complete one full charge at standard speed, then reconnect the fast charger — in most cases the protocol handshake succeeds on the second cycle. If it does not, check that the battery connector is fully and evenly pressed down, as a partially seated connector causes intermittent BMS communication errors.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — for example, 45% one minute, then 60%, then back to 40% without charging.

Erratic percentage jumps point directly to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has not yet characterised. The coulomb counter is interpolating from an old discharge curve and producing inconsistent state-of-charge estimates as it encounters voltage readings that don't match its stored model. This is not a fault with the cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate; after that single cycle the fuel gauge IC will stabilise its readings.
