Fits Redmi 11A and compatible models; replaces OEM part number BN5K.
3.82V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers the same capacity as the original battery.
Connector seats flat into the device slot with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We bench-tested this cell on a Redmi 11A; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no handshake delay.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi 11A / 12C Series — 3.82V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN5K)

This is a 3.82V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Redmi 11A and 12C smartphones, using OEM part number BN5K. It fits models 22120RN86C and 22120RN86G among others in that lineup. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns during normal use.

  • 11A and 12C platform fit: Both phones share the same battery bay dimensions and BMS connector pinout, which is why one BN5K cell covers the full model range. The charge IC on both boards negotiates with the same BMS handshake, so no firmware mismatch occurs at the cell level.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on a Redmi 11A board. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, protection cutoffs triggered correctly at low voltage, and the charge IC held a stable termination current at end-of-charge.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference discharge curve for the new cell before high-current fast charging pushes load into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Redmi 11A after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point that the old curve mapped to 20–30%, the IC signals a low-voltage event and the board cuts power. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets against the actual capacity of the new 4900mAh cell.

Turbo or fast charge not activating after BN5K installation

On the first charge cycle after installation, the charge IC on the Redmi 11A board may refuse to step up to high-current mode because the BMS in the new cell has not yet confirmed thermal and impedance status to the host. This is a deliberate first-cycle safety hold, not a fault with the cell. Plug in using the original cable and charger and let the first charge complete fully at standard rate — the IC will log the handshake and fast charge will activate from the second cycle onward. If it still does not activate, check that the USB-C port is clean and the charger outputs at least 9V 2A.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Redmi 11A shuts off at around 25% even though the new BN5K battery is fully charged — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC on the board is still reading from the discharge curve it built around your old, degraded cell. At a voltage point the old curve labelled as 25%, the IC triggers a low-voltage shutdown even though the new cell has capacity remaining. Run one complete discharge — let the phone shut itself off naturally — then charge it to 100% without interruption. That single full cycle resets the coulomb counter against the BN5K's actual 4900mAh curve and the premature shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Redmi 12C is jumping around erratically after fitting the replacement — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against a new cell it has no reference data for yet. It has stored hundreds of charge and self-discharge cycles worth of data on the old cell, and none of it applies to the BN5K. Erratic percentage readings are normal for the first one to three cycles while the IC builds a new state-of-charge map. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate with no fast charging enabled, and the percentage display will stabilise.

My phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges on the new cell — is something wrong?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, and the charge IC responds by pushing slightly more voltage to maintain current, which generates more heat at the cell surface in the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces as the cell's impedance drops over the first three to five charge cycles. Keep fast charging disabled for those first cycles and charge in a ventilated spot away from direct sunlight. If the phone stays warm beyond five full cycles, check that the replacement cell connector is fully seated — a loose contact increases resistance and heat at the junction.
