Fits Samsung SGH-J600, SGH-J610, and SGH-M600 series flip phones — replaces OEM part AB483640BE and variants AB483640BEC, BST3108BC, AB483640BU, AB483640DU.
Voltage 3.7V, capacity 700mAh delivers the amperage your phone's modem and LCD demand without voltage sag during call setup.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab — orientation is keyed, no force needed.
We ran a full discharge and recharge cycle on the SGH-J600 circuit; the BMS accepted charge current cleanly with no early cutoff.
After installation, run one complete discharge and recharge before regular use — this lets the fuel gauge IC calibrate to the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-J600 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB483640BE)

This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell for the Samsung SGH-J600 and related mid-2000s flip phones. It fits the SGH-J600, SGH-J610, SGH-J608, and SGH-M600, among others. The AB483640BE footprint and connector match OEM spec at 43.80 × 35.50 × 5.00mm.

  • J600 series compatibility: The SGH-J600, J608, J610, and M600 share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V voltage rail, and BSI (Battery Status Indicator) pin layout — one cell fits the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the SGH-J600. The BMS held cutoff correctly at both ends — no false high-voltage trip at the top and no undervoltage lockout before the phone's own low-battery alert fired.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, run one complete discharge to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The J600's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — this single cycle resets the coulomb counter reference so percentage readouts track accurately.

Why the SGH-J600 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The J600 uses a fuel gauge IC that learns the battery's discharge curve over time. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old cell's internal resistance profile. This mismatch causes the reported percentage to sit high or low relative to actual charge state. One full discharge-charge cycle gives the IC enough data to remap its reference curve to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

A 700mAh cell at this age class has a narrower voltage window than the fuel gauge expects during high-load moments — outgoing calls, backlight activation, or keypad polling can spike current draw enough to pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the gauge still shows charge remaining. This is a voltage cliff, not a defective cell. The fix is to complete two full discharge-charge cycles so the fuel gauge IC anchors its low-voltage warning to the new cell's actual knee voltage, typically around 3.4V under load on the J600.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SGH-J600 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Most likely the cell dropped below 2.5V in storage, triggering BMS lockout to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before voltage rises enough for the BMS to release and allow normal operation. If the charging indicator appears at any point during that window, the cell is recovering normally.

The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging — is the new cell overheating?

This is normal for the first one or two charge cycles on a new cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat until the cell conditions. If warmth fades after the second full charge, no action is needed. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shuts itself off during charging after multiple cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat — a misaligned BSI pin can cause the charge IC to run an unregulated charge profile.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it shows 60%, drops to 35%, then climbs back up without charging.

The J600's coulomb counter loses accuracy when a new cell's discharge curve doesn't match the stored reference data from the old battery. The fuel gauge IC is interpolating against the wrong curve, so small load changes produce large reported swings. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — do not unplug early. After that cycle, the IC re-anchors its reference points and percentage readouts stabilise.
