Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

USCellular One Touch Premiere / ADR3035 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB31P0000C1)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the USCellular One Touch Premiere and ADR3035 smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers CAB31P0000C1, CAB31P0001C1, and TB-4T0058200. Capacity is 5.55Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- One Touch Premiere and ADR3035 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why all three OEM part numbers cross to the same physical cell. The fuel gauge IC on each device reads the same charge curve.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the ADR3035 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV phases, and termination triggered at the expected voltage ceiling.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — letting it map the new cell under normal current prevents erratic percentage readings from the first charge onward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve. The phone's modem or display draws a current spike, the cell voltage sags briefly below the BMS cutoff threshold, and the device shuts down — even though the displayed percentage suggested charge remained. It's a calibration gap, not a faulty battery. Run one full discharge to auto-off followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After that first complete cycle, the coulomb counter aligns to the real cell curve and premature shutdowns stop.
Phone won't power on after sitting in storage with a flat battery
If the cell self-discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent cell damage — the phone will show no response at all when the power button is pressed. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a trickle pre-charge current to bring the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the device will boot or show a charging indicator.

Frequently Asked Questions
My One Touch Premiere shuts off at around 25% after I put the new battery in — is the battery defective?
The battery is not defective. The fuel gauge IC on the phone was calibrated to your old, degraded cell's discharge curve, and it hasn't remapped to the new one yet. When the modem or screen pulls a current spike, the cell voltage sags briefly and the BMS cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to auto-off and then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off — that single cycle lets the coulomb counter remap to the new cell, and the premature shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it went from 60% to 34% in two minutes without heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell fault. The IC holds a learned discharge model built on the old battery's internal resistance and voltage curve — your new cell has a different profile, and the IC is interpolating incorrectly until it learns it. Do not top up or partially charge the phone for the next cycle. Let it drain completely to auto-off, then charge to 100% in one go. After that reset cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after replacement — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first two or three charge cycles is normal for a new high-impedance cell. A fresh cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat during the constant-current phase. If the device becomes hot to the touch or the charger disconnects and reconnects repeatedly, stop charging and check that the connector is fully seated. Normal warmth fades after the cell is broken in — typically within three full charge cycles.
