Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

USCellular TXT8045 / Verse — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR8045B)
This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell built to replace part number BTR8045B in the USCellular TXT8045, TXT8045US, and Verse. It fits the original battery compartment and connects via the stock contact plate. Voltage and chemistry match OEM spec exactly.
- TXT8045 and Verse platform fit: The TXT8045, TXT8045US, and Verse all use the same 3.7V battery bay and BTR8045B contact layout. One cell covers all three variants — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the TXT8045 platform. The BMS accepted the charge current without fault, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no thermal events, no false overcharge flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before resuming normal use. The fuel gauge IC calibrates its discharge curve against the new cell during this first cycle — skipping it can cause the percentage meter to read inaccurately for days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TXT8045 after a cell swap
The TXT8045 fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve from the previous cell to predict remaining capacity. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches the actual voltage profile of the fresh battery. At around 20–30% displayed charge, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the old curve predicts under modem or screen load — the phone reads it as a hard cutoff and shuts down. Running one full discharge cycle from 100% to auto-off, then charging uninterrupted to 100%, rewrites the calibration table. After that cycle, the percentage reading stabilises and shutdowns stop.
Battery percentage jumping erratically in the first few days after replacement
Erratic percentage jumps — 15% down in ten minutes, then a sudden recovery — point to an uncalibrated coulomb counter, not a faulty cell. The TXT8045 charge IC tracks energy in and out, but after a cell swap the counter loses its reference baseline. High-draw events like a cellular data burst or screen-on during charging expose the miscalibration as a visible jump. Let the phone complete two full uninterrupted charge cycles — charge to 100% with the screen off, then use normally until auto-shutdown — and the counter resets to the new cell's actual capacity at 800mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TXT8045 powers on fine but dies suddenly around 25% — is the replacement cell defective?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The TXT8045 fuel gauge IC carries a discharge curve calibrated to the old, degraded battery — when the new 800mAh cell's voltage drops faster than that curve expects under load, the phone interprets it as empty and cuts power. Run one full cycle: charge uninterrupted to 100%, use normally until the phone shuts itself off, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the gauge recalibrates and the premature shutdowns stop.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?
Yes, and it's specific to new high-impedance cells. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a small amount of extra heat during the first two or three charge cycles. On the TXT8045 this shows up as warmth around the back cover near the battery bay. It settles after those initial cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the back cover feels uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check the contact plate seating — heat at that level is not normal.
My TXT8045 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what happened?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BTR8045B dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent cell damage. In lockout, the phone shows nothing — no boot screen, no charging indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a PC USB port, which may not supply enough current) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges the locked-out cell back above the BMS recovery threshold; once the cell reaches approximately 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.
