Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vivo iQOO 12 Pro — 7.74V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA17)

This is a 7.74V, 2450mAh Li-Polymer cell built to replace the BA17 battery in the Vivo iQOO 12 Pro smartphone. It fits the iQOO 12 Pro directly and restores full power to the processor, display, modem, and internal systems. Capacity is rated at 18.96Wh — taken from product data, not estimated.

  • iQOO 12 Pro fit: The iQOO 12 Pro uses a dual-cell Li-Polymer pack with a shared BMS connector pinout specific to this chassis. The BA17 part number maps to that exact connector layout and cell configuration — swapping in a mismatched cell trips the BMS handshake and prevents charging entirely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the iQOO 12 Pro platform. The BMS accepted the new cell, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV stages, and the fuel gauge IC registered the cell without throwing a fault flag.
  • First-cycle fast-charge hold-off: After installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC needs one full cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings early on.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the iQOO 12 Pro after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load that the IC does not anticipate, and the phone cuts power to protect the hardware. It is not a fault with the replacement cell itself. Run two full discharge-to-shutdown and charge-to-100% cycles without fast charging, and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell's actual curve.

iQOO 12 Pro not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BA17 cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and refuses to accept a charge current. Plugging into a standard charger appears to do nothing — the phone stays off. Connect to a USB-C charger and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes; the BMS trickle-charge circuit slowly brings the cell voltage back above the lockout threshold before allowing full charge current. If the cell voltage is recoverable, the phone will show a charge indicator after that window.

Frequently Asked Questions

The iQOO 12 Pro battery percentage keeps jumping around after I installed the BA17 replacement — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it built for the old, degraded battery — the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve is different, so the IC misreads the state of charge. Run one full discharge to shutdown and a full charge to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets its calibration against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

My iQOO 12 Pro won't fast charge anymore after fitting the new BA17 — it only slow charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the iQOO 12 Pro can refuse to enter the high-current fast-charge handshake until it has completed one standard CC/CV cycle with the new cell. This is the BMS protecting against pushing high current into an uncalibrated cell. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then enable fast charging again — the USB-PD or proprietary charge protocol negotiation resumes normally after that.

The iQOO 12 Pro feels noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new BA17 cell — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected on the first few charge cycles with a new Li-Polymer cell. A fresh, high-impedance cell dissipates slightly more energy as heat during the initial CC phase than a broken-in cell does. If the warmth is uncomfortable to hold or persists beyond the first three cycles, check that the charge IC is not locked into a high-current mode on an uncalibrated cell — disable fast charging, complete one standard cycle at full capacity, and the internal resistance of the cell will drop as it conditions.
