Fits Xiaomi Mi 8 and replaces OEM battery part number BM3E.
Voltage is 3.85V at 3300mAh capacity — this delivers full power to the processor, display, and modem without voltage sag under load.
Connector is a standard two-pin JST interface; tabs lock into the battery slot without modification or force.
We ran five full discharge cycles on a Mi 8 motherboard; the BMS accepted the cell immediately without fault codes or voltage drift.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi 8 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM3E)

The BM3E is the OEM-matched cell for the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Dual SIM TD-LTE (M1803E1C). This Li-Polymer battery runs at 3.85V with a 3300mAh / 12.71Wh capacity. It covers the full processing, display, and modem load that the Mi 8 platform demands.

  • Mi 8 platform fit: The Mi 8, Mi 8 Dual SIM, and M1803E1C variants all share the same battery bay dimensions, flex connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the entire family without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on Mi 8 hardware. The BMS accepted charge via both standard and Qualcomm Quick Charge paths, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the expected low-voltage cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Mi 8 after a cell swap

This happens because the coulomb counter and voltage-based fuel gauge IC are still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under combined modem, GPU, and display load before the percentage reading reflects it. The phone interprets a real voltage drop as a fault and shuts down to protect the circuit — not because capacity is low. One full discharge to around 3.0V followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the fuel gauge reference and stops false shutdowns.

USB-PD or Quick Charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

After a cell swap, the charge IC on the Mi 8 runs a handshake with the new BMS before it allows elevated current. On the first cycle this negotiation often defaults to standard 5V charging until the BMS confirms cell integrity. Unplug and reconnect the charger after the phone reaches 10–15% — this re-triggers the protocol negotiation. If fast charge still does not activate, complete one full standard-charge cycle first, then retest with the original Xiaomi adapter at 9V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mi 8 shuts off at around 25% even though the new BM3E battery is fully charged — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC in the Mi 8 is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load, the IC hasn't mapped that cliff yet and the phone cuts power early as a protection response. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — let the phone die completely — then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter reference and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Mi 8 keeps jumping around after I fitted the BM3E — it reads 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55%.

Erratic percentage readings after a cell replacement are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a faulty battery. The Mi 8's coulomb counter is comparing live cell data against a stored profile that matched the old cell's internal resistance and discharge curve. The mismatch causes the IC to correct itself mid-reading. Complete two full discharge-to-shutdown and charge-to-100% cycles with fast charging disabled, and the fuel gauge will lock onto the new cell's actual curve and stabilise.

My Mi 8 won't power on after the BM3E sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BM3E dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell the BMS will have locked out to prevent damage — the phone won't respond to a power button press or show a charging screen. Connect the original Xiaomi charger and leave it completely undisturbed for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a safe rate until voltage climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will resume normal charging behaviour and boot.
