Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Nitro 14 AN14-41 Series — 15.48V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AP21B7Q)
This is a 15.48V, 4900mAh (75.85Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Acer Nitro 14 AN14-41 gaming laptop. It replaces OEM part numbers AP21B7Q and KT.00407.014. Fits the AN14-41-R0CD, AN14-41-R0KZ, AN14-41-R28G, and over 180 additional AN14-41 configurations.
- AN14-41 platform fit: Every AN14-41 variant runs the same 15.48V four-cell Li-Polymer pack with a shared BMS connector pinout. The charge controller and fuel gauge IC on the motherboard communicate through the same EEPROM handshake across the entire lineup, so one cell SKU covers all configurations.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an AN14-41 board under full CPU and GPU load. The BMS held voltage across sustained draw without triggering low-voltage cutoff, and charge termination landed cleanly at 100% through the standard AC adapter.
- Post-install calibration on the Nitro 14: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to re-map against the new cell chemistry and clears the inaccurate health warning the BIOS throws after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after installing a new cell
The Nitro 14 stores battery health data in an EEPROM on the old cell. When you swap the cell, the BIOS reads no matching EEPROM history and flags the new battery as degraded or unknown. This is not a fault with the replacement — it is a data mismatch. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% re-initialises the learn cycle. After two or three full cycles, the BIOS health reading stabilises and clears.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The gauge was mapped to the old, degraded cell, so it misreads the remaining capacity and triggers a low-battery shutdown well above true empty. Force the laptop into hibernate by letting it discharge fully without interruption — do not plug in at 20%. After one complete discharge-to-hibernate and a full charge back to 100%, the fuel gauge re-anchors its zero-point to the new cell. The phantom shutdowns stop after one to three calibration cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Nitro 14 shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows right after I installed it — is the cell dead?
The cell is not dead. The Windows fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data mapped to the old battery and has not yet calibrated against the new one. Discharge the laptop fully to hibernate cutoff without plugging in, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one complete cycle the gauge re-maps to the new cell and the 0% or unknown reading clears.
System information shows the battery Wh rating as wrong — it says something different from the 75.85Wh spec on the new cell. Should I be worried?
No. The Wh figure Windows reports pulls from EEPROM data written at the factory, and the value stored on the new cell's EEPROM can differ slightly from the rated spec due to rounding in the chemistry table. The actual capacity delivered matches the cell rating. If the figure still looks wrong after two full discharge-charge cycles, check Acer's BIOS update page for the AN14-41 — a firmware revision sometimes corrects how the system reads and displays Wh from the new EEPROM.
The Nitro 14 stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is this a faulty battery?
This is almost always the BIOS charge limit feature, not the cell. Acer's firmware includes a battery care mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term wear. Open the Acer Care Center application, go to Battery and Power, and check whether "Battery Care Mode" or a charge limit toggle is enabled. Disable it, reconnect the AC adapter, and the charge should continue past 80% to 100%.
