Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Eee PC 901 / 1000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AL23-901)
This is a 7.4V, 8800mAh (65.12Wh) Li-ion battery for the Asus Eee PC 901, 904, 904HD, and 1000 series netbooks. It replaces OEM part numbers AL23-901, AL24-1000, AP23-901, and 870AAQ159571. If your original cell no longer holds charge or the OS reports degraded health, this is the direct swap.
- Eee PC 901 / 904 / 1000 platform fit: These models share the same 7.4V two-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all of them. The BMS on each model expects the same charge termination voltage and thermistor signal, so there is no firmware conflict between variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an Eee PC 901 and confirmed full charge acceptance to 8.4V, correct thermistor response during the charge cycle, and clean BMS communication with the ACPI layer. The OS fuel gauge registered capacity correctly after two calibration cycles.
- First-cycle calibration on the Eee PC: After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the Eee PC 901 reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
The Eee PC 901 stores charge history and health data in the battery's EEPROM. When a new cell is fitted, that EEPROM carries factory defaults, not real-world cycle data — the BIOS reads this as degraded or unknown. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running the battery learn cycle (full discharge to hibernate, full uninterrupted charge) writes fresh calibration data and clears the warning. After two cycles, the health indicator stabilises.
Eee PC 901 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge reports 20–30% remaining, but the cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold — the system shuts down to protect the cell. The fix is a full controlled discharge to hibernate, not a forced power-off. After one complete discharge-and-charge cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its low-voltage endpoint and the shutdowns stop. Confirm by checking cell voltage in the BIOS — it should read above 6.8V at the 20% mark once calibrated.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Eee PC 901 BIOS shows "Battery health: poor" straight after I fitted the new cell — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The Eee PC 901 reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, and a new cell ships with factory defaults that the BIOS interprets as a degraded pack. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle rewrites the EEPROM baseline and clears the warning.
My Eee PC 901 fuel gauge reads 65Wh in one tool and a completely different number in another — which is correct?
Neither reading is reliable until the fuel gauge IC calibrates against the new cell. The EEPROM on the old cell stored a rated Wh figure based on original chemistry data; the replacement cell has different real-world characteristics. Run two full discharge-and-charge cycles and the gauge IC will lock onto the correct value — 65.12Wh at full charge is the rated capacity for this cell.
New battery fitted to the Eee PC 904 but the charge stops climbing and holds at around 80% — is the charger the problem?
The charger is not the problem. Asus netbooks in this series include a BIOS-level charge limit that can activate after detecting an out-of-spec charge cycle on the old cell — it persists after a battery swap. Go into the BIOS, locate the battery charge threshold setting, and confirm it is set to 100%. If no BIOS option is visible, a full BIOS reset to defaults clears the limit and allows the cell to reach 8.4V at termination.
