Fits Clevo P960EN-K and P960 notebooks; replaces OEM part P970BAT-4.
15.2V 3550mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 53.96Wh capacity for sustained workload demand on gaming and workstation hardware.
Connector seats into the bottom-access battery slot with locking tab on the left side; keyed for single orientation.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted the new cell on first charge with no fault codes; voltage ramp was linear across the full 0–100% sweep.
On first boot, the BIOS fuel gauge may show inaccurate capacity — run one full discharge cycle to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to reset the battery learn cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo P960EN-K / P960 — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (P970BAT-4)

This is a 15.2V 3550mAh (53.96Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Clevo P960EN-K and P960 notebook series. It uses OEM part number P970BAT-4 and connects via the original battery bay without modification. Fit the new cell, boot normally, and the laptop draws power from it immediately.

  • P960EN-K and P960 compatibility: Both models share the same 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — so one cell covers the full P960 platform without any firmware or hardware variation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the P970BAT-4 cell on P960-series hardware and monitored BMS communication at each charge stage. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and the charge controller accepted full charge without fault codes.
  • Post-install discharge cycle on Clevo P960 systems: After fitting this cell, run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff under normal load — screen on, applications running — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on the P960 platform.

BIOS Reporting Battery Health as Poor Immediately After Fitting P970BAT-4

The Clevo P960 BIOS reads stored EEPROM data from the old cell and compares it against the new cell's initial readings before any calibration has run. Until the learn cycle completes, the firmware flags the new cell as degraded because the wear indicators from the previous battery don't match the fresh chemistry. This is a calibration state, not a fault. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge, and the BIOS health indicator will update to reflect the actual cell condition.

Laptop Shuts Down at 20–30% Shown on the Fuel Gauge

The fuel gauge IC on the P960 platform estimates remaining charge based on a voltage-to-capacity curve calibrated against the previous cell's chemistry. After a cell swap, that curve is misaligned — the IC reads a voltage that it incorrectly maps to 20–30% remaining, but the actual cell voltage is already at or near the low-voltage cutoff cliff. The BMS then triggers a protective shutdown to prevent cell damage. Two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles allow the fuel gauge IC to re-map the voltage curve against the new cell, after which the percentage readout will track accurately down toward 5–10% before any shutdown occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions

The P960EN-K BIOS is showing "Unknown Battery" or 0% right after I installed the new cell — is something wrong with it?

This is the EEPROM mismatch state — the BIOS lost the identification data stored by the old cell and hasn't yet read a full profile from the new one. It doesn't mean the cell is faulty. Run one complete discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the BIOS will read and store a valid profile from the P970BAT-4 cell and the "Unknown" status will clear.

The system info screen shows the wrong Wh rating — it's displaying something different from the 53.96Wh spec on the new battery. Should I be concerned?

The Wh figure shown in Windows or the BIOS is pulled from EEPROM data the fuel gauge IC writes during calibration cycles, not a direct measurement. Immediately after fitting a new cell, that stored value may still reflect the old battery's rated or degraded capacity. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles and the reported Wh figure will converge toward the actual 53.96Wh rating of the P970BAT-4 cell.

The new battery isn't charging above 80% on my Clevo P960 — it just stops there every time.

Check the BIOS power settings first. Clevo P960-series firmware includes a charge limit option — often labelled "Battery Charge Limit" or similar — that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during AC-only use. This is a BIOS-controlled setting, not a fault with the replacement cell. Enter the BIOS setup, locate the battery or power management section, and set the charge limit to 100%.
