Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GreatWall Asus F3 Series (T50) — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery for the Asus F3 laptop series, fitting the T50 model. It slots into the battery bay and reconnects the notebook to full cordless operation. Order this when the original cell no longer holds charge, fails to register in the OS, or powers down unexpectedly under load.

  • Asus F3 / T50 platform fit: The F3 and T50 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full range. No adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on F3 hardware and monitored the BMS handshake at first insertion. The BIOS flagged an unknown battery state on the first boot — expected behaviour after any cell swap. After one full learn cycle, charge reporting stabilised and the health warning cleared.
  • Post-install calibration on the Asus F3: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low voltage, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Asus F3 BIOS reads health data stored in the outgoing cell's EEPROM. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM data is blank or mismatched, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even though the cell is fresh. This is not a fault with the replacement. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% writes new reference data to the EEPROM and clears the warning on the next boot.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The IC is still using reference points from the old, degraded cell, so it underestimates remaining capacity and triggers a low-voltage shutdown too early. Run two or three full discharge-and-recharge cycles to let the fuel gauge IC map the new cell correctly. After calibration, the reported percentage at shutdown should drop below 5% at approximately 10.5V.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Windows show the new battery as 0% or "plugged in, not charging" right after I install it?

The fuel gauge IC in the Asus F3 retains calibration data from the old cell, and when it sees a fresh cell with a different charge state, it can report 0% or refuse to start the charge cycle. Unplug the adapter, hold the power button for 10 seconds to fully discharge residual board power, then reconnect and power on. This forces the charge controller to re-initialise the handshake and the charge cycle should begin normally.

The system info panel shows a Wh rating that doesn't match the 48.84Wh spec on the product listing — is the cell wrong?

No. The Wh figure displayed in Windows or HWiNFO is pulled from the cell's EEPROM, which may store the OEM-rated value or a manufacturer default rather than the actual measured capacity of this replacement cell. The 48.84Wh spec in our listing reflects the actual cell chemistry and measured output. Once the BIOS completes a full learn cycle, the reported figure will update to reflect real-world capacity more accurately.

The battery stops charging at around 80% and won't go higher — is this a fault?

On many Asus F3 units, the BIOS includes a charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during daily plugged-in use. Check the Asus Battery Health Charging utility in Windows — if it is set to "Balanced" or "Maximum Lifespan" mode, it will hold the charge at 80% by design. Switch the mode to "Full Capacity" to allow charging to 100%.
