Fits Quanta SW1, TW3, TW5, TW3A laptop models; replaces original 11.1V notebook battery pack.
11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) lithium-ion restores full cordless runtime to aging Quanta notebooks after battery degradation.
Connector type and slot orientation match OEM housing; no adapter or modification needed for installation.
Bench testing showed clean voltage hold under sustained CPU load and proper BMS cutoff at discharge floor.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Quanta SW1 / TW3 / TW5 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) lithium-ion battery for Quanta SW1, TW3, TW3A, and TW5 laptops. It fits the original battery bay and connects to the same charging circuit used by the factory cell. Install it when the existing battery no longer holds a charge or fails to power the machine off AC.

  • SW1, TW3, TW5, TW3A compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, battery connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell fits the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and BMS handshake verification. The protection circuit responded correctly to overvoltage, undervoltage, and short-circuit conditions on each run.
  • Post-install calibration on Quanta notebooks: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement

Quanta's BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM — not from live cell measurements. The old EEPROM values carry over context from the degraded cell, so the firmware flags poor health even though the new cell is fully functional. Running a complete learn cycle — full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — overwrites the cached data. After one or two full cycles the reported health figure corrects itself.

Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load before the fuel gauge IC reaches its predicted empty point. The gauge IC was calibrated against the old, degraded cell and its discharge curve no longer matches the new chemistry. The fix is two to three full discharge-recharge cycles so the IC re-learns the actual voltage-to-capacity curve of the replacement cell. After calibration, the reported percentage and the real cutoff voltage align — target a resting voltage of 11.1V at the 100% mark before starting the final calibration discharge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The system info screen shows the wrong Wh rating after I put the new battery in — is the cell faulty?

The Wh figure displayed in system info pulls from the EEPROM data embedded in the battery, which reports the rated chemistry specification rather than a live measurement. The 48.84Wh rating in the EEPROM is correct for this cell, but some Quanta BIOS versions display a cached value from the previous battery until the learn cycle runs. Complete one full discharge to hibernate cutoff and charge uninterrupted to 100% — the displayed Wh figure should update to match the new cell after that cycle.

The fuel gauge jumps around wildly for the first few charges — goes from 60% straight to 15% with no warning.

The fuel gauge IC uses a model built from the previous cell's discharge curve, and that curve does not match the new lithium-ion cell's voltage profile. Until the IC recalibrates, it misreads the voltage drop and reports large, sudden jumps in remaining capacity. Run three full discharge-to-hibernate, charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. By the third cycle the gauge IC has enough data points to track the new cell accurately and the erratic jumps stop.

New battery installed but the laptop still only charges to 80% and stops — the charger light stays on but percentage won't move.

An 80% charge ceiling is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the replacement cell. Many Quanta notebooks ship with a battery conservation or health mode enabled in the BIOS or a power management utility that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear. Go into the BIOS setup or the manufacturer's power management software and disable the charge limit or set the threshold to 100%. Once that setting is off, the cell will charge to its full 11.1V resting voltage.
