Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Iru G15X — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Iru G15X notebook. It fits the G15X platform directly, restoring portable power to units where the factory cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and connector match the original spec.
- G15X platform fit: The G15X uses a 14.8V four-cell Li-Polymer configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the BMS handshake between the battery and the motherboard completes correctly on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS protection circuits trip at the correct cutoff voltages. Overcharge and over-discharge protection both responded within spec.
- Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after most cell swaps on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after installing the G15X replacement cell
The G15X BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers that were written by the original factory cell. When a replacement cell goes in, those registers still hold the old cell's degraded state data. The system flags the new battery as poor health because it hasn't yet overwritten the stored values. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% triggers the BIOS learn cycle, which rewrites those registers against the new cell's actual capacity. After two to three calibration cycles the health reading normalises.
G15X shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the OS gauge
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a gauge fault. Under combined CPU and display load the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track, and the BMS cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It typically appears within the first few cycles when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. Run two full discharge cycles — down to hibernate cutoff each time — then charge fully. The gauge IC maps the actual voltage curve after those cycles and the premature shutdowns stop. If cutoffs continue past three cycles, check that the BIOS battery learn mode is not disabled in firmware settings.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Iru G15X shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and won't move off zero — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the G15X motherboard is reading EEPROM data from the old cell and hasn't initialised against the new one yet. Let the battery charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff — do not interrupt mid-cycle. After one complete cycle the IC resets its reference point and the percentage reads correctly. If it stays at 0% after two full cycles, confirm the battery connector is fully seated and the four-pin contact strip isn't bent.
Windows battery report shows the Iru G15X replacement cell at 59Wh design capacity but only 31Wh full charge capacity on first boot — is the cell faulty?
No — this is an EEPROM mismatch, not a defective cell. The full charge capacity figure on first boot is pulled from the old cell's stored data, not from a real measurement of the new one. The fuel gauge IC needs two to three full charge-discharge cycles to measure the actual capacity of the new cell and write updated values. Run the laptop to hibernate cutoff twice, charging fully between each cycle, and the full charge capacity figure will update to reflect the actual 59.2Wh rating.
The G15X laptop charges fine but the OS fuel gauge jumps erratically — showing 75%, then 90%, then dropping to 60% within minutes — after fitting this battery.
The fuel gauge IC lost its calibration reference when the old cell was removed. Without a stored discharge curve it interpolates voltage readings inconsistently, which causes the erratic percentage jumps. Discharge the laptop fully to the point Windows triggers hibernate, then charge straight to 100% without unplugging early. Repeat that cycle once more. The IC maps the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve across those two cycles and the gauge stabilises to within a few percent accuracy.
