Fits Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2-851F with OEM part number L14C2K31 or L14D2K31.
3.75V at 6400mAh delivers 24Wh to restore full tablet operation without shutdown.
Connector seats flat against the tablet's battery contact strip with no locking tab.
We cycled the cell through three full discharge-recharge runs; BMS remained stable throughout discharge.
After installation, run one complete drain to sleep mode then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the tablet's fuel gauge IC and clears any false "battery unknown" warnings from the old cell's EEPROM data.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2-851F / 830F Series — 3.75V Li-ion Replacement Battery (L14C2K31)

This is a 3.75V, 6400mAh (24Wh) Li-ion battery for the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2-851F, Yoga Tablet 2-830F, Yoga Tablet 2 L851F, and Yoga Tablet 2 830LC. It replaces OEM part numbers L14C2K31 and L14D2K31. Fit is confirmed across the 8-inch Android tablet range that shares this cell format and connector pinout.

  • Yoga Tablet 2 family compatibility: The 851F, 830F, L851F, and 830LC variants share the same 3.75V single-cell architecture, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers all four. The PCB protection circuit is identical across the run.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Yoga Tablet 2 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, the fuel gauge IC initialised correctly, and charge current tapered normally at the top-of-charge threshold.
  • Post-install calibration for the Yoga Tablet 2: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the tablet auto-shuts off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The fuel gauge IC on this tablet needs at least one full cycle against the new cell to reset its learned capacity model — skipping this leaves the percentage readout unreliable for the first week of use.

Why the Yoga Tablet 2 reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap

The Yoga Tablet 2 stores charge history and health data in EEPROM on the battery's protection circuit board. When you fit a new cell, that EEPROM is blank or carries factory default values the OS reads as degraded. Android's battery health indicator pulls from this stored data, not from a live measurement. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge writes fresh cycle data to the fuel gauge IC and clears the erroneous health warning.

Tablet shuts down at 15–25% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC's state-of-charge map no longer matches the actual cell's voltage curve — common after a cell swap. The tablet hits the hardware low-voltage cutoff (around 3.0V under load) while the gauge still shows charge remaining. The fix is a calibration cycle: drain fully to auto-shutdown, leave for two minutes, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After two to three of these cycles the percentage readout and the actual cutoff voltage align.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Yoga Tablet 2 shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% in Android settings — is the cell faulty?

The fuel gauge IC on the Yoga Tablet 2 loses its calibration reference when the cell is swapped, and Android reads the blank EEPROM state as unknown or zero. The cell itself is not faulty. Run a full discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one to two complete cycles the OS reads the cell correctly and the unknown status clears.

Android reports this battery at 18Wh but the spec says 24Wh — why does the Wh figure look wrong?

The Wh value Android displays is pulled from the EEPROM on the protection circuit board, which may carry a factory default or a value inherited from the previous cell's wear state. The actual cell capacity is 24Wh as rated. After running two full calibration cycles — full discharge to shutdown, then full uninterrupted charge — the fuel gauge IC recalculates from live measurements and the reported Wh figure corrects itself.

Charging stops at around 80% and will not go higher — is the charger the problem?

On the Yoga Tablet 2, a charge ceiling at 80% is almost always a firmware-level charge limit, not a charger or cell fault. Lenovo's battery management on some Yoga tablet firmware builds activates a conservation mode that caps charge at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Check Settings → Battery → Battery Care or Battery Conservation and disable it. Once off, plug in and the cell will charge to 100%.
