Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEC Versa E660 / E680 / M500 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (442677000001)
This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh (73.26Wh) Li-ion battery pack for the NEC Versa E660, Versa E680, and Versa M500 notebook computers. It replaces the original cell when the system no longer holds charge or powers on without AC. Direct fit — same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol as the factory pack.
- Versa E660 / E680 / M500 platform fit: All three models draw from the same battery bay spec — identical 11.1V nominal rail, matching connector, and shared BMS handshake. One cell replaces across all three without adapter or firmware change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a Versa E660 and logged BMS communication through Windows battery reporting. The cell negotiated correctly, charge current stepped down at the correct threshold, and the pack reached full capacity without a BMS lockout event.
- First-cycle calibration on the Versa platform: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on Versa-series systems.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting a new cell
The Versa BIOS stores learned capacity data from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new pack is installed, the old data doesn't clear automatically — the BIOS compares current readings against a degraded baseline and flags the new cell as unhealthy. This is a firmware artefact, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn cycle data and resolves the warning on next boot.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The reported percentage and real cell voltage diverge — the system hits the low-voltage protection threshold while the gauge still shows charge remaining. It's most visible under full CPU and display load, where current draw accelerates the voltage drop. Run two or three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles and the gauge IC realigns; unexpected shutdowns stop once the curve is relearned.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Versa E680 shuts off suddenly around 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?
Not typically. The fuel gauge IC on the Versa platform needs two to three full discharge cycles to calibrate against a new cell's voltage curve. Until it does, the reported percentage and actual cell voltage diverge — the laptop hits low-voltage cutoff while the gauge still reads 25%. Run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff twice in a row, charging fully between each cycle, and the shutdowns stop.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something much lower than 73.26Wh.
The Wh value Windows reports pulls from the EEPROM data embedded in the battery's BMS, which stores the rated capacity of the original OEM chemistry. The actual usable energy from the new cell may differ slightly from that stored value. This is a data mismatch between the EEPROM record and the installed cell — it doesn't affect charging or discharge behaviour. Check the actual charge level percentage instead; that's driven by live voltage readings, not the stored Wh figure.
New battery installed but the Versa M500 won't charge above 80% — is there a fix?
On Versa-series systems, an 80% charge ceiling is often a BIOS-controlled charge limit — some NEC notebook BIOS versions ship with a battery longevity mode enabled that caps charge at 80%. Check the BIOS power management settings under the battery section and disable the charge limit. If no such setting appears, update the BIOS to the latest revision from NEC's support page, as some earlier firmware versions applied this cap without exposing a toggle.
