Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gericom 442677000001 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh (73.26Wh) lithium-ion battery for Gericom notebook computers. It replaces a wide range of OEM part numbers including 442677000001, BP-8389, BP-8089, and BT.T3007.003, among others. If the original cell has degraded or no longer holds charge, this unit restores full battery operation.
- Cross-reference coverage: Gericom used multiple OEM part numbers across notebook revisions — same voltage rail, same connector, same BMS handshake protocol. This battery covers that full cross-reference pool, including BP-8889, BP-LYN 4000, 442682800002, and 3CGR18650A3-MSL variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on Gericom notebook hardware. The BMS negotiated correctly with the system, accepted a full charge to 11.1V nominal, and held stable voltage under sustained CPU and display load without triggering a protection cutoff.
- Post-install calibration: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on Gericom systems.
Why BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
Gericom notebooks store battery health data in the old cell's EEPROM. When a new cell is installed, the BIOS reads no matching EEPROM history and flags the battery as degraded or unknown. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge forces the BIOS to write new learn-cycle data and clear the warning.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The gauge inherited calibration data from the old, degraded cell and predicts voltage collapse too early. Under combined CPU and display load, the laptop interprets a normal mid-range voltage as critically low and shuts down. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles — the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate and the cutoff point will shift back toward the correct low-voltage threshold near 9V.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Gericom notebook show the new battery as "0%" or "unknown" right after I installed it?
The BIOS pulled health data from the old cell's EEPROM and found nothing it recognises on the new one. It's a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement. Plug in the charger and let the battery charge uninterrupted to 100% before doing anything else. After one full charge-discharge cycle the BIOS will write new data and the status will clear.
My Gericom is cutting out around 25% and the battery was brand new — what's causing it?
The fuel gauge IC is still running calibration data from the old degraded cell. It's predicting voltage collapse at the wrong point on the new cell's discharge curve. Under full CPU and screen load, the system hits what it thinks is a critical threshold and shuts down — even though the cell has usable charge left. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100%, and the cutoff will move back to the correct low-voltage point near 9V.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — is the cell I received incorrect?
The Wh figure shown in your OS or BIOS is read from EEPROM data that was written for the original OEM cell, not measured live from the replacement. This cell is rated at 73.26Wh, but the system may display a different figure until the learn cycle overwrites the stored value. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the reported Wh rating should update to reflect the actual cell capacity.
