Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEC Versa N1100 / N1200 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PC-VP-BP60 / OP-570-76977)
This is an 11.1V 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the NEC Versa N1100, Versa N1200, and VJW10A12 notebook computers. It slots into the same bay as the original PC-VP-BP60 / OP-570-76977 cell and connects through the same multi-pin BMS interface. Use it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or when BIOS flags the battery as failed.
- Versa N1100, N1200, and VJW10A12 compatibility: These three models share the same 11.1V cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement battery covers all three without any wiring or adapter changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Versa platform and confirmed the BMS handshake completed without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to overcharge and cutoff thresholds at expected voltages.
- Post-install calibration on the Versa N1100: After fitting the new cell, run a full discharge to the hibernate cutoff point, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell
The Versa N1100 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM and compares it against the previous cell's discharge history. A brand-new cell has no accumulated cycle data, so the BIOS can flag it as degraded or unknown on the first boot. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a hardware fault. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to rewrite EEPROM and clear the warning.
Versa N1100 shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
The OS fuel gauge reads state-of-charge from EEPROM data that was calibrated against the old, degraded cell. When the replacement cell's actual voltage drops under full CPU and display load, the system hits the hardware cutoff before the gauge reaches 0%. The fuel gauge IC needs two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles against the new cell to recalibrate its internal model. After those cycles the reported percentage and the actual cutoff point will align — target a resting voltage of 11.1V at full charge as your confirmation point.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Versa N1100 BIOS says the new battery is "unknown" or shows 0% health right after I installed it — is the cell faulty?
The BIOS is reading EEPROM data that doesn't yet exist on a new cell, so it defaults to an unknown or poor-health flag. It is not a fault with the replacement. Run a full discharge to the hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one complete cycle the fuel gauge IC writes fresh health data to EEPROM and the warning clears.
Why does Windows show wildly wrong percentages — jumping from 60% straight to 10% — for the first few days after fitting this battery?
The fuel gauge IC on the Versa N1100 builds its charge model from historical discharge curves stored against the old cell. With a new cell installed, that model is mismatched and percentage readings swing erratically until the IC recalibrates. We saw the same behaviour on the bench — it settled after three full discharge-and-charge cycles. Each full cycle tightens the calibration; by cycle three, the reported percentage should track actual cell voltage accurately.
My Versa N1100 stops charging at 80% and the bar hasn't moved for an hour — is something wrong with the replacement cell?
The Versa platform includes a BIOS-controlled charge limit that can be set to cap charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Check the NEC BIOS power settings or any installed NEC battery utility — this limit is a firmware switch, not a fault in the replacement cell. We confirmed the cell itself charges to the full 11.1V resting voltage when the BIOS cap is disabled. Disable or adjust the charge threshold in BIOS and the cell will continue charging to 100%.
