Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba Satellite P20-304 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PA3291U-1BAS)
This is a 14.8V 6600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Toshiba Satellite P20 and P25 series notebooks. It fits the Satellite P20-304, P20-134, P20-104, and P25-S508 among 34 additional confirmed models. The OEM part numbers are PA3291U-1BAS and PA3291U-1BRS.
- Satellite P20 and P25 series fit: All confirmed models on this platform share the same 14.8V four-cell voltage rail, the same physical connector pinout, and a compatible BMS handshake. The battery slots in without modification and the BIOS recognises the cell on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the P20 platform. The BMS held the charge cutoff correctly at full capacity and the protection circuit responded to over-discharge conditions without tripping prematurely under display-plus-CPU load.
- First-cycle recalibration on the P20: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting the new cell
The Satellite P20 BIOS stores cycle count, capacity history, and health data in the old cell's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads no matching history and flags health as unknown or poor. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS learn cycle rewrites its health estimate against the new cell's actual data. The warning clears after one to two completed cycles.
Laptop shuts down abruptly while the gauge still shows 20–30% charge
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load before the fuel gauge IC catches up. The fuel gauge was calibrated to the old, degraded cell and its voltage-to-capacity curve no longer matches the new chemistry. The fix is to let the laptop discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff twice in a row — this gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to re-map the voltage cliff on the new cell. After two full cycles the reported percentage at shutdown should drop to 3–5% rather than 20–30%.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Toshiba Satellite P20 is showing the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and it never moves — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data from the old cell and cannot reconcile it with the new cell's charge state. Let the laptop charge uninterrupted to 100%, then do a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff without interrupting it. That one complete cycle gives the fuel gauge enough reference points to re-anchor its zero and full readings to the new cell. After the cycle completes, the percentage display returns to normal.
Windows is showing this battery's capacity as 48Wh in the power report, but the cell should be 97.68Wh — is it faulty?
The BIOS-side EEPROM on the old cell stored a worn, degraded Wh figure from years of capacity fade. Windows is pulling that cached value from the system's battery report rather than measuring the new cell directly. Run the battery learn cycle — one full discharge to hibernate, one uninterrupted charge to 100% — and then regenerate the Windows battery report using `powercfg /batteryreport`. The reported Wh figure will update to reflect the actual new cell capacity.
The Satellite P25-S508 stops charging at 80% with this replacement battery — is the cell defective?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge threshold, not a cell fault. Toshiba's power management firmware on several P25 models includes a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — it carries over regardless of which cell is installed. Open Toshiba Power Saver or Toshiba Battery Utility from the system tray, find the charge limit or battery care mode setting, and set it to 100%. If the utility is missing, check the BIOS setup menu under Power Management for a battery charge mode option and switch it to full charge.
