Fits Ingenico AXIUM DX4000, AXIUM DX8000, DX8002 terminals; replaces OEM part LD18650K-1, LD18650N, LD18650M.
7.4V, 3350mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 24.79Wh — sufficient for full transaction cycles without mid-sale shutdowns.
Connector seats vertically into the terminal battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested this cell on a DX4000 unit — BMS accepted handshake on first boot, no fault codes flagged.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before live deployment; the terminal calibrates battery capacity during normal operation and requires one full power cycle to map the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ingenico AXIUM DX4000 / DX8000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LD18650K-1)

This 7.4V, 3350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Ingenico AXIUM DX4000, DX8000, DX8002, and DX8000-2-2Q95E portable payment terminals. It matches the OEM part numbers LD18650K-1, LD18650N, and LD18650M. The cell fits the same physical bay and connects to the same BMS interface as the factory pack.

  • AXIUM DX4000 and DX8000 platform compatibility: These models share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement cell covers the full range without any adapter or wiring change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the AXIUM boot sequence, NFC reader activation, receipt printer fire, and card swipe loads. The BMS handled each current spike without tripping into protection mode.
  • First-transaction calibration: After installation, run one complete transaction — card read, receipt print, and display active — before putting the terminal into live service. The AXIUM maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to display an accurate charge indicator.

Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

The AXIUM DX4000 receipt printer pulls a sharp current spike the moment it fires — this is the highest single draw event the terminal creates. On a new cell whose BMS has not yet completed its first calibration cycle, that spike can briefly exceed the overcurrent threshold and trigger a protection cutoff, which the terminal reads as a power loss and restarts. The fix is not a hardware fault. Run three to five full transaction cycles, including receipt prints, on a charged battery before concluding the pack is faulty. After those cycles the BMS sets its overcurrent headroom to the actual load profile of the device.

Terminal not powering on after sitting unused in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge over time. If a terminal sat unused in a drawer for several months, the cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 5.0V at the pack level. At that point the BMS locks out discharge and the terminal shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the terminal to its dock or USB-C charger and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing any button. Most AXIUM BMS firmware includes a trickle-recovery mode that slowly raises the cell voltage back above the lock threshold before allowing a normal charge cycle to begin.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AXIUM DX4000 reboots every time the receipt printer fires — is the new battery faulty?

Almost certainly not faulty. The receipt printer motor draws a sharp current spike that can trip the BMS overcurrent threshold on a new cell that has not yet calibrated to the terminal's load profile. Run five complete transaction cycles — card read, screen active, receipt printed — on a full charge before drawing any conclusions. After those cycles the BMS sets its headroom to the actual peak draw and the mid-print reboots stop.

The terminal froze halfway through the PCI boot sequence after I installed the replacement battery — what's happening?

The AXIUM PCI boot sequence performs a firmware integrity check that takes longer than a normal power-on and draws steady current throughout. If the BMS has not yet completed its first handshake with the terminal's charge IC, it can interrupt the power rail partway through that check. Charge the battery to 100% with the terminal off, then power on without connecting to the dock. Let it complete one full boot to the home screen before running any transaction. That single cycle is enough for the BMS to accept the terminal's handshake and pass subsequent boot sequences cleanly.

The battery indicator has been stuck at 99% since I first charged the replacement — is the cell defective?

Not defective. The AXIUM charge IC enters a top-off mode on a new cell, holding at a trickle rate just below the termination threshold for up to an hour before it registers 100%. The display stays at 99% during that whole window. Disconnect from the charger, run one full transaction cycle until the terminal draws the battery down slightly, then recharge to completion. The charge IC resets its calibration on that discharge-recharge pass and the indicator will read correctly from that point forward.
