Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ingenico A8 Pro Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LD18650F-1)
This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Ingenico A8 Pro and A8 Pro-92D3 payment terminals. It matches the OEM part numbers LD18650F-1 and LD18650H-1. Voltage, connector, and BMS communication specs align with the terminal's power management circuit.
- A8 Pro and A8 Pro-92D3 compatibility: Both variants share the same 7.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell pack covers both units without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the A8 Pro platform. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly, and held voltage within the terminal's expected operating band under combined display, wireless, and printer load.
- First transaction cycle after installation: After fitting, complete one full transaction — card read, authorization, and receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during real operation, and at least one complete cycle is needed for the charge indicator to read accurately.
Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap
The A8 Pro's receipt printer draws a sharp current spike the moment it fires the thermal head. On a new or cold cell, the BMS can read that spike as an overcurrent event and cut output instantly. This trips the terminal mid-sale — the screen goes dark and it restarts. Running two or three full transaction cycles conditions the BMS trip threshold to the terminal's actual load profile, and the reboot issue typically stops after that warm-up period.
Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence on new battery
The A8 Pro runs a PCI-compliant boot check that requires stable voltage above a minimum threshold before it hands off to the OS. A new cell that hasn't completed a full charge cycle may sit just below that threshold, causing the terminal to stall or loop at the boot screen. Connect the terminal to its charging dock and allow a full uninterrupted charge — do not power it on mid-cycle. Once charge reaches 100% and the cell is at or above 8.2V resting voltage, the PCI sequence should complete normally on the next boot.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ingenico A8 Pro won't turn on at all after sitting unused for a few months — is the battery dead?
A cell that has self-discharged past roughly 2.5V per cell (5.0V pack total) will hit the BMS's deep-discharge lockout, and the terminal won't respond to the power button. Connect it to the charging dock and leave it for at least 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on — most BMS circuits require a slow trickle charge to recover the cell above the recovery threshold before they allow a full charge cycle. If the charge indicator shows any activity within the hour, the cell is recovering. If the dock light never responds, the original cell is below recovery voltage and needs replacing.
The battery indicator on my A8 Pro is stuck at 99% and won't move to 100% — is something wrong with the new battery?
Nothing is wrong. When the charge IC detects a new or recently depleted cell, it enters a top-off phase where it applies a reduced current to safely bring the cell to full voltage. During this phase the indicator holds at 99% and does not increment. It typically clears after the first complete charge-discharge-charge cycle under real transaction load. Run the terminal through a full session, let it drain normally, then charge it to completion — the indicator should reach and hold 100% from that point forward.
My A8 Pro gets noticeably warm during busy periods — is the battery causing it?
The heat comes from simultaneous load on three systems: the display backlight, the wireless radio, and the thermal print head. None of those draws is high individually, but combined they pull steady current and generate heat across the battery and the board. This is normal under heavy transaction volume. If the terminal becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, or begins throttling mid-session, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully — a partial connection increases resistance and generates more heat at the pack interface. Clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol and reseat the battery before testing again.
