Fits Ingenico iSMP, iMP350, and IMP350 series terminals replacing OEM part 296118442.
3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 4.44Wh for full transaction cycles without mid-sale cutoff.
Connector seats flat into the terminal battery slot with mechanical alignment tab preventing reverse insertion.
We bench-tested the cell on a live iSMP unit — BMS handshake completed on first charge cycle without fault codes.
After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment — the terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ingenico iSMP / iMP350 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (296118442)

This 3.7V 1200mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number 296118442 in the Ingenico iSMP and iMP350 mobile payment terminals, including IMP350-USBLU03A and IMP350-USSCN01A variants. It restores power to portable POS devices used for wireless card transactions in retail and service environments. Voltage, capacity, and connector match the original Ingenico specification.

  • iSMP and iMP350 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V power rail, physical cell footprint (57.00 × 34.10 × 6.40mm), and BMS handshake protocol — one battery SKU covers the full IMP350 variant range without connector adapters or firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through a full boot sequence and live transaction load on an iMP350 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first power-on, and the charge IC reached termination without fault flags.
  • First deployment calibration: After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The iSMP runs a PCI-compliant security check during every boot. If the BMS handshake has not yet been accepted by the terminal's charge controller, the device may stall or loop before reaching the payment application. This is not a battery fault — it is the terminal waiting for the cell to register above its internal voltage threshold. One full charge cycle after installation clears this state. If the terminal still stalls, confirm cell voltage at the connector reads at least 3.6V before reinserting.

Charge indicator stuck at 99% and never reaching 100%

On a new cell, the charge IC enters top-off mode once the cell approaches full capacity, trickling current at a low rate to avoid overcharge. This phase can hold the display at 99% for an extended period — it is normal behaviour, not a faulty battery or charger. The indicator will flip to 100% once the top-off current drops below the terminal's detection threshold. No action is needed; leave the terminal on charge and it will complete the cycle on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iSMP reboots every time I process a payment — it was fine before the battery swap. What's happening?

The receipt printer and wireless radio together pull a short, sharp current spike at the moment a transaction completes. If the battery's BMS interprets that spike as an overcurrent event, it trips and cuts power — causing the reboot. We saw this on the bench when the cell was below 3.65V at swap-in. Charge the terminal fully before first live use, and the BMS will stop tripping once the cell has stabilised through one complete charge-discharge cycle.

The terminal sat unused in a drawer for months and now won't power on at all — is the battery dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. After several months, the cell voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V — and the terminal will refuse to boot as a protection measure. Connect the terminal to its charging cradle or USB power source and leave it for 30–60 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the recovery floor, after which a normal boot will proceed.

The iMP350 feels noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — is the battery overheating?

Heat during heavy use is the combined load of the display backlight, wireless radio, and printer motor all drawing from a 1200mAh cell simultaneously. That is a high current-to-capacity ratio for a small Li-ion cell, and some warmth is expected. The BMS includes a thermal cutoff that will interrupt the circuit if the cell exceeds its safe temperature ceiling — so the device protects itself. If the terminal feels hot rather than warm, or if the BMS cutoff trips repeatedly, reduce concurrent use of the printer and wireless functions between transactions to lower the peak draw.
