Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pax Payment Terminal — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IDS152GA)
This is a 3.85V, 5400mAh Li-ion replacement battery carrying OEM part number IDS152GA. It fits Pax mobile point-of-sale terminals that use this cell. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.
- Pax terminal power architecture: Pax mobile POS terminals run the display, contactless reader, receipt printer, and wireless radio from a single cell. The BMS on this battery manages each draw independently and will trip if any single load spike exceeds the protection threshold — most commonly during printer motor engagement.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge sequences, confirmed BMS handshake acceptance, and verified that the charge IC recognized the cell without error flags or protection lockouts.
- First transaction cycle after installation: After fitting this battery, run one complete transaction from power-on through to receipt print before deploying the terminal live. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.
Receipt printer causing BMS trip during high-volume periods
The receipt printer motor draws a sharp current spike the moment it engages — far higher than the steady-state wireless or display draw. On a degraded or freshly installed battery, the BMS can interpret this spike as an overcurrent event and cut output briefly. This is more likely during back-to-back transactions when the cell temperature is already elevated. If the terminal resets consistently at print time, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated, and confirm the BMS has completed at least one full charge cycle on the new cell before heavy use.
Terminal won't power on after sitting unused in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per month at room temperature. A terminal left in a drawer for several months can arrive with the cell below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — at which point the BMS locks output entirely as a protection measure. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it for 30–60 minutes without attempting to power on. The charger applies a low-current trickle that nudges the cell voltage back above the recovery threshold, usually around 3.0V, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Pax terminal reboots every time it prints a receipt — is the new battery faulty?
Almost certainly not a faulty cell. The receipt printer motor pulls a sharp current spike at the moment it fires, and if the BMS hasn't completed a full charge-discharge cycle yet, it can misread that spike as an overcurrent event and trip. Fit the battery, charge to 100%, run one complete transaction cycle, then redeploy. If resets continue after that, clean the battery contacts and confirm the terminal firmware is current.
The charge indicator is stuck at 99% and won't move — did something go wrong during installation?
Nothing went wrong. When the charge IC first sees a new cell, it enters a top-off mode and holds the displayed percentage just below 100% while it applies a low-current tail charge to fully condition the cell. This is normal behaviour and typically clears within one to two hours of continuous charging. Let the terminal stay on charge until the indicator moves and the charger LED changes state — do not interrupt the cycle early.
The terminal powers on but won't complete the PCI boot sequence after the battery swap — it just loops back to the start screen.
The PCI boot sequence on Pax terminals includes a BMS handshake check. If the battery voltage is below the terminal's minimum operating threshold — roughly 3.5V — the security controller aborts the boot rather than risk a mid-sequence power loss. Connect to the charger and allow the cell to reach at least 3.6V before attempting to boot. One full charge cycle is usually enough to clear the loop entirely.
