Fits Asus MyPal A620, A620BT, and A620G PDAs; replaces OEM part 029521-83159-7.
3.7V Li-ion at 2200mAh delivers 8.14Wh for extended handheld use away from desk charging.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot on the device back panel without locking tabs.
We bench-tested this cell on A620 firmware; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without faults.
Sync all open files and calendar data to a host computer before removing the old battery — the A620 stores active RAM state on main power, and full removal erases unsaved work.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus MyPal A620 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (029521-83159-7)

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Asus MyPal A620, A620BT, and A620G Pocket PC handhelds. Rated at 2200mAh (8.14Wh), it restores portable operation to these early-2000s PDA devices. Dimensions are 67.89 × 52.40 × 5.52mm — measure your original before ordering if unsure.

  • A620, A620BT, and A620G compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BT and G variants add Bluetooth and GPS radios respectively, but neither changes the battery interface or BMS handshake.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the A620 platform and confirmed the BMS initialised correctly on first charge. The protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage threshold before cell voltage dropped below safe limits.
  • RAM power before removal: Sync all open data to a host PC before pulling the battery. The MyPal A620 stores active application state and unsaved data in SRAM powered directly by the main cell — cutting power without syncing first will wipe anything not written to flash storage.

Why the MyPal A620 loses calendar entries and contacts after a battery swap

The A620 runs Windows Mobile on top of a RAM-dependent architecture. Unlike modern devices with NAND flash as the primary data store, the MyPal keeps the active database — contacts, calendar, tasks — in volatile SRAM. That RAM needs continuous voltage to hold its contents. Even a brief gap between removing the old cell and seating the new one is enough to wipe it. A backup battery or capacitor is not present on this board to bridge the gap. Always perform an ActiveSync backup to a PC before swapping the cell.

New battery seated but the A620 won't complete the boot sequence

A freshly shipped Li-ion cell is typically stored at around 30–50% state of charge. The MyPal A620 boot ROM checks supply voltage early in the startup sequence and will halt if the reading falls below its minimum threshold. Pressing the power button on a partially charged new battery can cause it to stall at the boot screen or immediately shut off. Connect the device to the AC adapter and charge the new cell to at least 3.9V before attempting the first boot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My A620 wiped all my contacts the moment I swapped the battery — why did that happen?

The MyPal A620 stores contacts and calendar data in volatile SRAM, not in permanent flash memory. That RAM loses its contents the instant battery power is removed, even for a second. There is no backup capacitor on the board to bridge the gap during a swap. Before replacing the battery, run an ActiveSync session and confirm a full backup has completed to the host PC.

The A620 boots but the battery drains much faster than expected — what's pulling the extra power?

On the A620BT and A620G, the Bluetooth and GPS radios draw significantly more current than the base CPU and display load. If either radio is left on between sessions, the cell discharges well above the rated standby draw. Go to Start → Settings → Connections and confirm Bluetooth is off and the GPS COM port is not held open by a background app. Check battery status after one hour of true standby — if it has dropped more than a few percent, a radio is still active.

The A620 wireless sync keeps dropping partway through — could the new battery be the cause?

The Bluetooth radio on the A620BT is voltage-sensitive and will reduce transmission power or drop the connection if supply voltage sags. A new cell that hasn't been fully charged yet will show early voltage sag under radio load even if the percentage indicator looks acceptable. Charge the battery to full on the AC adapter before running a wireless sync session. If drops continue after a full charge, check that the sync software on the host PC has not timed out the connection on its end.
