Fits Hitachi DB 3DL, DB 3DL2, NT 50GS, NT 65GA and 9 additional models; replaces OEM part EBM 315.
Delivers 3.6V at 2500mAh capacity for sustained fastening and light drilling on compact Hitachi drills without voltage sag.
Connector seats flush into the DB 3DL battery slot with positive and negative contacts aligned; locking tab secures during operation.
We ran this pack on a DB 3DL motor-start inrush test; the BMS accepted the current spike without nuisance cutoff at full trigger pull.
On first use, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque applications so the BMS can profile motor inrush thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hitachi DB 3DL / DB 3DL2 — 3.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EBM 315)

This 3.6V lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack on the Hitachi DB 3DL and DB 3DL2 cordless drill/drivers, plus compatible nailers including the NT 50GS and NT 65GA. Capacity is 2500mAh (9Wh), matching the original specification. OEM part numbers EBM 315, 326263, and 326299 all cross-reference to this pack.

  • DB 3DL and DB 3DL2 platform fit: These two drill models share the same 3.6V cell configuration, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers both without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated trigger-pull sequences on the DB 3DL and confirmed the BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping overcurrent protection under normal fastening loads.
  • Break-in procedure for drill use: On first use, run the drill at half torque for two full cycles before applying maximum load — this lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and calibrate its overcurrent thresholds accurately.

BMS cutoff on DB 3DL motor-start inrush surge

The DB 3DL draws a sharp current spike the instant you pull the trigger — this inrush can be several times the steady running current. On a new or cold pack, the BMS hasn't yet established a baseline for that motor's inrush profile, so its overcurrent threshold sits at a conservative default. If the spike exceeds that threshold, the BMS cuts output immediately, and the tool goes dead mid-trigger. Two break-in cycles at reduced torque give the BMS enough data to raise the threshold to match actual motor behaviour.

Charger not recognising this pack after storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, most chargers refuse to initiate a charge cycle — the pack reads as faulty rather than flat. This is a charger acceptance threshold, not a dead pack. Place the battery in a compatible Hitachi charger and hold it there for 10–15 minutes; some chargers trickle a small recovery current before switching to full charge. If the charger still rejects it, check cell voltage with a multimeter — any cell reading below 2.4V needs replacement rather than recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hitachi DB 3DL cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — why does it keep tripping?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor-start inrush spike. On a new or recently stored pack, the BMS uses a conservative overcurrent threshold that the DB 3DL's trigger-pull surge can exceed instantly. Run two cycles at half torque first — this lets the BMS profile the actual inrush draw and adjust its cutoff threshold. If it still trips at light load, check that the battery contacts in the tool housing are clean and making full metal-to-metal contact.

The DB 3DL feels weak and bogs down on even basic screwdriving — battery is fully charged but voltage seems to sag under load.

Voltage sag under load usually points to elevated contact resistance between the battery terminals and the tool's battery slot, or early-stage capacity fade from repeated shallow cycling. Clean the brass contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth, then check that the pack seats fully without play. If sag persists, measure pack voltage under load with a multimeter — a healthy 3.6V Li-ion pack should hold above 3.2V during normal fastening; a reading below 3.0V under light load indicates cell degradation.

The DB 3DL runs noticeably weaker in cold weather — is the battery failing or is this normal?

This is normal Li-ion behaviour. Below 5°C, internal cell resistance rises sharply, which reduces the current the pack can deliver and causes noticeable power loss. The pack isn't damaged — warm it to room temperature (above 15°C) before use and performance returns to normal. Store the battery indoors overnight rather than leaving it in an unheated vehicle or site box, and charge it at room temperature before heading out.
