Fits Signode BXT 19, BXT10, and BXT13 strapping tools replacing original 12V Ni-MH packs.
12V 1500mAh delivers 18Wh for sustained strapping cycles without mid-job voltage sag on load.
Connector slides onto Signode charging dock; tab locks flush to prevent accidental ejection during operation.
Bench testing showed stable voltage delivery under motor inrush; no BMS cutoff on trigger pull.
On first three charge cycles with the Signode charger, run short strapping sequences to let the BMS profile motor current draw before full-tension applications.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Signode BXT 19 / BXT10 / BXT13 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 12V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Signode BXT 19, BXT10, and BXT13 portable strapping tools. These are battery-operated units used in industrial packaging lines to tension and seal plastic strapping around pallets and cartons. Voltage and connector must match the original pack — this one does.

  • BXT 19, BXT10, BXT13 platform fit: All three models share the same 12V battery bay, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. That means one pack covers the full BXT series without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on a BXT-series tool body and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without error codes. Cell voltage under motor-start inrush held within spec, and the pack did not trip the overcurrent threshold during tensioning strokes.
  • Strapping tool cycle care: For the first two uses, run the tool through standard tensioning cycles at moderate strap tension before applying maximum torque. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current signature and calibrate its overcurrent trip threshold accurately before high-load use.

BMS cutoff during the tensioning stroke on motor-start inrush

The BXT series motor draws a short current spike the moment tensioning begins — this is normal inrush behavior on any brushed DC drive. On a degraded or cold pack, internal resistance is high enough that this spike causes the cell voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff floor, tripping the protection circuit before the strap is fully tensioned. A fresh Ni-MH pack at 12V nominal has lower internal resistance than an aged cell, so it absorbs the inrush without dropping rail voltage into the cutoff window. If the new pack still trips on the first pull, charge it fully before the next cycle — Ni-MH packs can arrive partially discharged after shipping.

Tool bogs mid-stroke under heavy strap tension

This is voltage sag, not a BMS trip — the tool keeps running but loses torque and slows noticeably through the tensioning arc. It usually traces back to high contact resistance at the battery terminal, not a dead cell. Pull the pack, clean both the tool-side and battery-side contacts with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. If the sag continues, check that the pack is reading at or above 12V resting voltage with a multimeter — anything below 11.5V at rest after a full charge cycle indicates a cell fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BXT strapping tool cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — why does a new battery do this?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush current exceeding the protection threshold. It's more likely on a pack that arrived below full charge, because low state-of-charge raises internal cell resistance and deepens the voltage sag at trigger pull. Charge the pack fully before the first use and try again. If it still trips, check that the battery terminals are seated firmly — a loose connection adds resistance that worsens the sag.

The charger isn't recognising the new Signode pack — light just blinks and never moves to charge mode.

Ni-MH packs can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage floor during shipping and storage. Most chargers will not initiate a charge cycle if the pack reads below roughly 10V. Measure the pack resting voltage with a multimeter — if it's under 10V, use a charger with a recovery or "wake" mode to pulse the cells back above the acceptance threshold, then switch to normal charge. Do not leave a deeply discharged Ni-MH pack sitting — recovery becomes harder after 48 hours below floor voltage.

The BXT tool works fine in the workshop but bogs badly when used in a cold loading dock — is the battery faulty?

Not faulty — Ni-MH internal resistance rises sharply below 10°C, which causes heavier voltage sag under the tensioning load. The pack is delivering less effective current to the motor even though it shows full charge on the indicator. Warm the battery to room temperature before the shift starts — store it inside rather than leaving it on the tool in the dock overnight. At 20°C the voltage sag returns to normal operating range and the torque loss disappears.
