Fits Worx WG150s, WG152, WG250, and WG541 string trimmers; replaces OEM part number WA3127.
18V 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage output on the motor without voltage sag during trim head rotation.
Slide connector slots straight onto the trimmer's battery port with a spring-loaded locking tab on the left side.
Bench testing confirmed the cell accepts charge through standard Worx chargers without BMS fault codes on first insertion.
On first use with the WG150s, run the trim head at half speed for two full charge cycles before operating at full throttle; this allows the motor circuit to calibrate current draw and prevents premature thermal cutoff under sustained cutting loads.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Worx WG150s / WG152 / WG250 / WG541 — 18V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (WA3127)

This is an 18V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery carrying OEM part number WA3127. It fits the Worx WG150s, WG152, WG250, and WG541 cordless string trimmers and edgers. Voltage and cell format match the original pack exactly.

  • WG150s / WG152 / WG250 / WG541 platform fit: These models share the same 18V battery rail, slide-in connector, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers the whole family without adapter hardware or firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated trimmer load profiles on the bench. The BMS handled motor-start inrush without tripping overcurrent and held voltage within spec across the discharge curve.
  • Ni-MH break-in on first use: Ni-MH cells need two to three full charge-discharge cycles before reaching rated capacity. Run the trimmer at a moderate load through a complete discharge each time — the cells will reach full 2000mAh output by cycle three.

Charger blinking red on WA3127 pack after storage

Ni-MH packs sitting unused for several months self-discharge below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically under 10V on an 18V pack. The charger reads this as a fault and blinks red instead of starting a charge cycle. Most Worx chargers include a recovery mode: hold the pack in the charger for 10–15 minutes and the unit will trickle-charge the cells up to acceptance voltage before switching to normal charge. If the charger does not recover the pack within 20 minutes, check terminal voltage directly — anything above 9V is recoverable with a compatible NiMH recovery charger.

Trimmer bogs or loses power mid-cut through thick grass

Sustained high load through dense grass forces the motor to draw continuous peak current, which heats both the motor housing and the battery cells simultaneously. Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance than Li-ion, so voltage sag under load is more pronounced — particularly as the pack ages. The BMS will cut power if cell temperature exceeds its thermal threshold, causing the tool to stop mid-cut. Let the pack cool for five minutes, then check resting voltage: if it reads above 16V at rest, the cutoff was thermal, not a capacity failure — the pack will resume normally once cooled.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Worx WG150s cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — why does it keep stopping on startup?

The motor-start inrush current on the WG150s spikes sharply the moment the trigger pulls — this brief surge can exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold on a cold or low pack, causing an immediate cutoff. It is more common when the battery is below 50% charge or the ambient temperature is under 10°C, both of which raise Ni-MH internal resistance. Fully charge the pack first, then attempt a trigger pull. If cutouts continue on a full charge at room temperature, check that the slide-in terminals are fully seated — a loose connection causes voltage drop that mimics overcurrent to the BMS.

After storing the trimmer all winter, the battery charges fine but the tool runs noticeably weaker than before — what happened?

Ni-MH cells degrade from shallow-cycle use and long storage, both of which cause individual cells within the pack to drift out of balance. When cells are mismatched, the weakest cell sets the pack's effective capacity and voltage output — the rest of the cells cannot compensate. This shows up as a weak-feeling motor even on a full charge. Run two to three full discharge-then-charge cycles through the trimmer at normal load; this forces the BMS to recalibrate and often recovers usable capacity on packs that sat unused through winter.

The WG150s runs fine in summer but cuts out quickly in cold weather — is the battery failing?

Cold weather significantly raises Ni-MH internal resistance, which means voltage sags faster under the same motor load. Below 5°C, a healthy 2000mAh pack can behave as though it is half-depleted — the BMS sees voltage drop and cuts power to protect the cells. The pack is not failing. Store the battery indoors at room temperature before heading outside and install it just before use. Running the trimmer at light load for the first minute warms the cells and drops internal resistance back toward normal operating range.
