Fits Thuraya XT-LITE satellite phones; replaces OEM part numbers XTL2680, JUPC10385, and IKLT06781.
3.7V 2400mAh Li-Polymer delivers 8.88Wh — sufficient for full-day field ops with moderate call usage.
Connector seats into the XT-LITE battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested against a stock XT-LITE unit; BMS accepted charge immediately and delivered stable voltage under satellite acquisition current draw.
On first deployment in cold field conditions, warm this cell against your body before installation — Li-Polymer internal resistance spikes below 0°C and can trigger BMS cutoff during antenna deployment.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Thuraya XT-LITE — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (XTL2680)

This 3.7V 2400mAh Li-Polymer battery is a direct replacement for the Thuraya XT-LITE satellite phone. It fits the XT-LITE specifically — not the XT-PRO or XT-DUAL. Capacity is 8.88Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • XT-LITE platform fit: The XT-LITE uses a slim Li-Polymer cell with a three-pin connector and an onboard BMS that negotiates charge termination with the handset. The XTL2680 cell format and connector pinout match that handshake exactly — no adapter or firmware workaround needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through satellite acquisition cycles on the XT-LITE. The BMS held stable through the antenna deployment current spike and sustained transmit draw at full power. Charge termination triggered cleanly at 4.2V with no false cutoff.
  • Cold-field pre-warm before deployment: Li-Polymer internal resistance rises sharply below 0°C. Before powering on the XT-LITE in sub-zero conditions, carry the battery in an inner jacket pocket for at least 15 minutes. A cold cell can trip the BMS during the initial satellite search burst even when the pack reads a full charge.

Why the XT-LITE shuts down during satellite acquisition

Satellite acquisition on the XT-LITE draws a sharp current spike as the radio module powers up alongside antenna deployment. An aged or partially discharged cell can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold during this spike, even if the battery indicator showed adequate charge beforehand. This is not a phone fault — it is the BMS protecting a cell that can no longer deliver the instantaneous current the acquisition sequence demands. A fresh cell with low internal resistance resolves the shutdown.

Charger showing no activity after the battery sat unused for months

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell drops below approximately 3.0V, most chargers will not initiate a charge cycle — the BMS blocks current to prevent an unsafe charge into a deeply depleted cell. Some XT-LITE chargers include a recovery or trickle mode; hold the phone on charge for 20–30 minutes before assuming the battery is dead. If the charger still shows no activity after that window, the cell voltage has likely fallen below recovery threshold and the pack needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My XT-LITE drains noticeably faster in cold weather — is the battery failing or is this normal?

Li-Polymer cells lose usable capacity below 0°C as internal resistance rises, so the phone pulls harder on the cell and the BMS trips earlier. This is chemistry behaviour, not a fault — the same battery will recover closer to rated capacity once it warms up. In the field, keep the spare pack against your body between uses. If drain is heavy even at room temperature, the cell is degraded and needs replacing.

The phone shuts off mid-call even though the battery was fully charged before the call started.

Sustained satellite transmit at maximum power pulls continuous high current — more than a standby or acquisition cycle. An aged cell cannot hold voltage under that sustained load, and the BMS cuts output to protect the cell. The charge indicator reads full because capacity is measured at rest, not under load. Replace the pack; a cell that collapses under transmit draw will not recover with cycling.

After months in storage, the XT-LITE won't turn on and the charging light doesn't come on either.

Extended storage allows Li-Polymer cells to self-discharge past the BMS acceptance threshold — typically around 3.0V. Below that point the charger refuses to push current in, so neither the phone nor the charge indicator responds. Leave the handset connected to the original Thuraya charger for 30 minutes; some chargers apply a slow trickle to recover a borderline cell. If there is still no response after 30 minutes, the cell voltage is below recoverable range and the battery needs to be replaced.
