This is a 3.2V LiFePO4 cell rated at 600mAh (1.92Wh), built to replace the original FC1450P battery in the Moser ChromStyle 1584 Li pro mini cordless clipper. When the original cell degrades, the clipper loses motor power and charge cycles shorten. This replacement restores cordless cutting performance.

  • ChromStyle 1584 Li pro mini fit: The 1584 platform uses a fixed 3.2V LiFePO4 rail and a compact cell profile — 53.00 × 14.20 × 14.00mm. The BMS in the clipper handshakes with the LiFePO4 chemistry specifically. Swapping to Li-ion would misread the charge curve and either refuse to charge or overcharge the cell.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the ChromStyle 1584

LiFePO4 cells tolerate partial cycles far better than Li-ion, but the 1584's battery indicator is calibrated against full charge-discharge curves. Charging the clipper briefly each day before it depletes causes the state-of-charge estimate to drift. Over weeks, the indicator reads full while the usable capacity has quietly dropped. A full discharge followed by a complete charge cycle re-anchors the indicator to the actual cell capacity.

This is a voltage sag problem, not an indicator fault. As the LiFePO4 cell ages, internal resistance rises. Under motor load, the cell voltage drops sharply enough to reduce blade speed before the resting voltage has fallen low enough to trigger the indicator. You will feel reduced cutting power while the display still shows charge remaining. Replace the FC1450P cell — once internal resistance is elevated, no charging pattern recovers it.

My ChromStyle 1584 charges fine but the blades feel slower than they used to — is that the battery?

Yes. As the LiFePO4 cell ages, its internal resistance increases. Under motor load, voltage sags enough to reduce blade speed even though the resting charge level looks normal. The indicator won't flag this — it reads resting voltage, not the voltage under load. Replace the FC1450P cell to restore full motor output.

The clipper won't charge at all after I wiped it down — is the port broken?

Probably not the port. Moisture bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection trip in the 1584 that blocks the charge circuit entirely. The device shows this as a dead battery or no charging response. Dry the charging port thoroughly with a lint-free cloth, wait two minutes, then reconnect — if the fault clears, the BMS has reset. If it doesn't clear after a full dry-out, the cell itself may need replacing.

The charge indicator drifts — shows full but the clipper cuts out earlier than expected. What causes that?

Daily top-up charging without fully depleting the cell causes the 1584's state-of-charge estimate to drift out of calibration. The indicator tracks a voltage curve, and shallow repeated cycles shift where it thinks "full" and "empty" sit. Run the clipper down until it cuts out, then charge it to full in one uninterrupted session — this re-synchronises the indicator to the cell's actual capacity.
