This is a 10.8V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Heim & Haus 18796 Rolladenantrieb smart home device. It slots in using the MOLEX connector and restores power to units where the original cell has degraded or failed completely. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification.

Why the 18796 drains faster after a battery swap than the old cell did

A new cell at full charge can actually increase polling frequency on some smart home platforms — the controller detects higher available voltage and processes network requests it was previously deferring. If your hub is set to a high polling interval or the device sits on a busy mesh node, current draw goes up noticeably. Check your hub's device settings and lower the polling interval if the drain rate seems excessive. A typical idle draw for this class of device should not exceed a few milliamps at 10.8V.

Low battery alert appearing immediately after fitting a new cell

This happens when the battery has sat in storage long enough for its resting voltage to drop below the alert threshold the hub monitors. The cell is not faulty — it just needs one full charge cycle before the hub reads an accurate state. Plug the device into its charging source and let it reach full voltage before reinstalling or dismissing the alert. Once the cell sits above 12.0V resting, the alert clears and the hub reports normal battery status.

My Heim & Haus 18796 went offline right after I put the new battery in — is the battery dead?

The battery is almost certainly fine. The 18796 runs a mesh network re-join sequence every time power is interrupted, and that process takes up to 60 seconds to complete. Wait a full minute after installing the cell before checking the app. If the device is still offline after 60 seconds, trigger a manual re-join from the hub interface.

The Rolladenantrieb isn't showing up in my hub at all after the battery swap — even after waiting

This is a lost pairing, not a battery fault. The hub dropped the device entry when power was cut, and the re-join sequence alone won't recover it. Open your smart home app, navigate to device management, and run the add/pair sequence for the 18796 again. The device will re-register and appear as normal once pairing completes.

The new battery seems to be draining noticeably faster than the original cell did — what's causing that?

A fresh cell at full voltage can prompt the hub to increase polling frequency, pulling more current than the depleted original was drawing. Check the polling or reporting interval setting for the 18796 in your hub's device configuration and reduce it if it's set to a short interval. If drain continues at the same rate after adjusting that setting, check whether the device is placed on a high-traffic mesh node and move it closer to the hub to reduce retransmission overhead.
