Put the watch straight on the charger and let it run to 100% — once the IC completes that first full cycle, percentage readings return to normal.

Removing the cell cuts power to the BLE radio and drops the active Bluetooth session entirely. The phone holds a stale pairing record that no longer matches the watch's restarted state. Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the Gear Fit 2 Pro, then re-pair through the Galaxy Wearable app from scratch.
The magnetic charger isn't registering on the watch after I reassembled it — the charging icon never appears.
The charge contacts on the SM-R365 back plate are small and the magnetic puck relies on precise alignment to make a clean connection. If the rear cover shifted even slightly during reassembly, the contacts miss. Press the puck firmly against the back of the watch and rotate it a few degrees in each direction until the charging icon appears on screen.
The GPS on my Gear Fit 2 Pro is draining the new battery much faster than the heart rate sensor alone — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. GPS on the SM-R365 activates the location chipset continuously during tracked workouts, drawing significantly more current than the optical HR sensor. A new cell can also show slightly elevated drain in the first few charge cycles as the chemistry settles to its working impedance. Run two or three full charge cycles and track a GPS workout each time — drain rate stabilises once the cell has bedded in.
