Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony SRS-X5 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LIS2128HNPD)
This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the Sony SRS-X5 portable Bluetooth speaker. It replaces the original LIS2128HNPD cell when the speaker no longer holds charge or won't run without being plugged in. Restores cordless wireless audio playback to the SRS-X5.
- SRS-X5 fit: The SRS-X5 runs a dual-cell 7.4V Li-ion pack at a specific connector pinout. This battery matches that voltage rail and connector orientation so the onboard BMS can communicate with the speaker's charge circuit without throwing a fault.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the SRS-X5 charge board. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering an overcurrent fault, and charge termination cut off cleanly at full voltage — no trickle bleed after the cell topped out.
- Monthly discharge cycle for SRS-X5 users: The SRS-X5 is often left on a desk and topped off before it drops below 50%. Do a full discharge to under 20% at least once a month before recharging — this resets the fuel gauge and slows capacity fade on the Li-ion cell.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty on the SRS-X5
The SRS-X5 amplifier draws a short current spike every time bass frequencies hit. As the cell discharges below roughly 6.8V, internal resistance rises and the pack can't deliver that spike cleanly. Voltage sags under the amp's demand, and the amplifier clips — you hear distortion even though the LED indicator still shows charge remaining. Replacing a degraded cell removes the high-resistance bottleneck and restores clean headroom for the amp.
SRS-X5 warm to the touch during extended play sessions
At continuous high volume, the SRS-X5 generates heat from two sources at once: the Class D amplifier inside the fabric housing and the battery discharging under sustained load. The compact housing has limited airflow, so heat accumulates. A degraded cell with high internal resistance adds extra heat on top of normal amplifier warmth. If the housing feels hot rather than warm, let the unit rest for 15 minutes before resuming playback — the cell's internal temperature directly affects discharge efficiency and cycle life.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SRS-X5 shows a full charge but the audio cuts out after about an hour of use — is that the battery?
Yes. This is classic fuel gauge drift caused by shallow cycling — the speaker was regularly topped off before dropping below 50%, so the battery management system lost accurate track of actual remaining capacity. The cell still holds some charge, but the BMS cuts power when its miscalibrated gauge reads empty. Do one full discharge to under 20% followed by a full uninterrupted charge to recalibrate the fuel gauge.
Bluetooth keeps dropping on my SRS-X5 when I push the volume up high, but reconnects when I turn it down — why?
At high volume, the amplifier and the Bluetooth radio are both drawing current simultaneously. If the cell has degraded internal resistance, combined amp-plus-radio draw causes a voltage sag that briefly drops below the radio module's operating threshold — the Bluetooth stack drops out to protect itself. Turning the volume down reduces the amplifier's current demand and the sag disappears. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag; check that the replacement sits at or above 7.2V under load.
My SRS-X5 won't respond to USB charging at all after sitting unused for several months — is it dead?
Probably not dead, but the cell has self-discharged below the minimum voltage the charge circuit will accept — typically around 5.5–6V for a 7.4V Li-ion pack. Most USB chargers won't initiate a charge cycle on a pack that reads below their acceptance threshold. Try a dedicated Li-ion charger with a recovery or "boost" mode, which applies a low pre-charge current to bring the cell back above acceptance voltage before switching to standard CC/CV charging.
