Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Flir Si124 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (T912185)
This is a 10.8V, 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Flir Si124, Si124-PD, and Si124-LD acoustic imaging cameras. It replaces OEM part T912185 and fits the original battery bay without modification. The Si124 platform runs on-site electrical, mechanical, and building surveys where battery failure mid-session means lost data and repeat site visits.
- Si124, Si124-PD, and Si124-LD compatibility: All three variants share the same 10.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell pack covers the full Si124 product line without adapter or firmware change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through power-on, live acoustic imaging, and USB data transfer simultaneously. The BMS held voltage stable across the combined load and did not trip at sensor initialisation.
- First-use calibration on the Si124: After fitting this battery, run a full calibration cycle through the Si124 instrument menu before going to site. The camera maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during your first imaging session, even when the pack is fully charged.
BMS cutoff when the Si124 initialises its acoustic sensor array
When the Si124 powers up, the MEMS microphone array draws a short current spike as each sensor initialises. An aged or low-state-of-charge battery can dip below the BMS undervoltage threshold during this spike, causing an immediate shutdown before the home screen loads. This is a protection trip, not a dead battery. Charge the pack to full before attempting power-on, and the BMS will clear the condition automatically.
Si124 display showing inconsistent battery percentage after swapping to a new pack
The Si124 tracks battery state against a learned voltage curve from the previous cell. A new pack with different internal resistance reads differently at the same open-circuit voltage, so the percentage indicator appears to jump or reset between boots. This is not a fault with the battery or camera. Run two full charge and discharge cycles through normal imaging work, and the camera recalibrates its voltage-to-percentage mapping. After the second cycle, the display stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Si124 powers on fine but shuts off the moment I start a USB transfer to my laptop — is the battery the problem?
USB data transfer adds a sustained draw on top of the active sensor load, and if the pack voltage sags under that combined current, the BMS cuts power to protect the cells. We reproduced this exact sequence on the bench — a partially discharged pack dropped out during transfer while a fully charged pack held stable throughout. Charge the battery to 100% before transferring data, and keep the camera off USB while running live imaging sessions if the pack is below roughly 50%.
The Si124 won't power on at all after sitting in the carry case for three months — is the battery dead?
After extended storage, Li-ion cells self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold, and the protection circuit locks out to prevent damage. The pack is not dead — it needs a recovery charge. Connect it to the Si124 charger and leave it undisturbed for at least 60 minutes; most BMS circuits begin accepting current again once the cell voltage climbs above 2.5V per cell (7.5V for a 3S pack). If the charger LED does not respond after 90 minutes, repeat the charge attempt — some BMS designs require two connection cycles to exit sleep mode.
My Si124 readings reset mid-logging session even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining — what's happening?
This is a voltage dropout under sustained sensor load, not a capacity issue. During a long logging session the pack voltage can sag enough to momentarily trip the BMS undervoltage floor, causing the instrument to reboot and drop the active log. The battery percentage indicator lags behind real-time voltage, so it still shows green when the dropout occurs. To prevent this, start long logging sessions only with a fully charged pack, and avoid running the Wi-Fi or USB connection simultaneously — combined draw accelerates the sag. A fresh, fully charged T912185 pack holds above the 9V dropout floor throughout a standard survey session.
