Fits Keysight N9330B and N9340B spectrum analyzers; replaces OEM battery N9330B.
10.8V, 4000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers sustained power for field RF measurements without voltage sag under probe load.
Connector seats flush into battery compartment with locking tab; verify orientation before sliding pack fully home.
Bench testing showed steady 10.8V output under continuous measurement draw; BMS accepted charge cycle on first insertion.
After installing, run full calibration through the instrument menu before field deployment — the N9330B maps battery state during calibration and skips cause premature low-battery warnings on first session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Keysight N9330B / N9340B Series — 10.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 10.8V, 4000mAh (43.2Wh) Ni-MH battery for the Keysight N9330B and N9340B handheld spectrum analyzers. It fits both the standard N9330B and the N9340B variants, including the Antennentester and Spektrumanalyzer configurations. Swap this in when the original pack can no longer hold a full charge through a field session.

  • N9330B and N9340B platform fit: Both instruments share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 10.8V rail is common across the series, so one pack covers all four fit models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the N9330B platform and confirmed the BMS communicates state-of-charge correctly to the instrument's power management circuit. No false low-battery flags or premature cutoffs during sustained RF signal capture.
  • First-use calibration step: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment. The N9330B maps battery state during that calibration pass — skipping it causes the low-battery warning to trigger early on the first measurement session, even with a fully charged pack.

BMS lockout after the N9330B sat unused in a carry case for months

Ni-MH cells self-discharge over storage. If this pack sat discharged for an extended period, the BMS may enter a sleep state and block normal charge acceptance. The charger will show no activity even with a good connection. To recover, apply a slow trickle charge at a low rate for 30–60 minutes to bring the cell voltage above the BMS wake threshold — most chargers with a reconditioning mode handle this automatically. Once the BMS wakes, normal charging resumes and the pack cycles correctly.

N9340B shuts down mid-sweep during active signal logging

The N9340B draws a sustained higher current during continuous sweep and logging operations compared to idle display use. A degraded or partially charged Ni-MH cell sags under that load — the voltage drops below the instrument's cutoff threshold and triggers an immediate shutdown. This is not a firmware fault; it is the BMS protecting the cell. Charge the pack to full before a logging session and verify the instrument reads above 11.5V at startup before beginning a sweep sequence.

Frequently Asked Questions

The N9330B powers on fine but shuts off the moment I start a USB data transfer to my laptop — is this the battery?

Yes. USB data transfer adds a second simultaneous draw on top of the instrument's normal operating load. If the pack has any capacity fade, the combined current pull drops cell voltage below the shutdown threshold faster than either load alone would. Charge the pack fully before transferring data, and confirm the instrument shows a full charge indicator before connecting the USB cable — not mid-session.

My N9330B is showing a low-battery warning within minutes of starting up, even though I just charged this new pack overnight — what's wrong?

The instrument maps battery state during its calibration cycle. If you installed the new pack and skipped that step, the power management circuit is still referencing the old pack's degraded voltage curve. Go into the instrument menu and run a full calibration cycle now — the low-battery threshold will recalibrate to the new cells and the warning will stop triggering prematurely.

The new pack won't take a charge at all — the charger shows no activity and the indicator light doesn't change. What do I do?

This is a BMS sleep state caused by the cells sitting below recovery voltage, which happens when a Ni-MH pack is stored fully discharged. The BMS blocks charge input until the cell voltage is raised above its wake threshold. Use a charger with a reconditioning or recovery mode, or apply a low-rate trickle charge for 30–60 minutes. Once cell voltage climbs above approximately 9V, the BMS wakes and normal charging resumes.
