Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leica Disto S910 / D810 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (795460)
This 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 795460 and 806678 in the Leica Disto S910, D810, and D810 Touch laser distance meters. These are professional survey instruments used for precision distance, area, and volume measurement on active job sites. Capacity figures come from the product data — 3400mAh / 12.58Wh.
- Disto S910, D810, and D810 Touch compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The S910 adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, which draw additional standby current — this cell's capacity covers both the base measurement functions and the active radio stack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Disto S910's power-on sequence, triggered the laser, and activated the P2P Wi-Fi link simultaneously. The BMS held the supply rail steady through each combined draw event without tripping the protection circuit.
- Post-install calibration on the Disto: After fitting this battery, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument's settings menu before field deployment. The Disto maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during your first measurement session, even with a fully charged cell.
Disto S910 BMS lockout after the instrument sat unused in a carry case for months
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a protective sleep state and refuses to accept a standard charge. The Disto S910 cannot wake a locked BMS through its own charging circuit — the charger simply sees no response and stops. To recover, apply a low-current pre-charge (often called trickle or recovery mode) using a bench charger set to 0.1C until the cell climbs above 3.0V, then switch to normal charge. Once above 3.0V per cell, the BMS reactivates and the instrument will recognise the pack normally.
Disto shuts down the moment USB data transfer to a PC begins
When the Disto initiates a USB data transfer, the instrument powers its USB controller, keeps the display active, and sustains the measurement module — combined draw spikes sharply above normal operating current. A degraded original cell with elevated internal resistance cannot hold the voltage rail through that combined load, so the BMS cuts output to protect the cell and the device resets. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance maintains the supply voltage above the Disto's minimum threshold throughout the transfer. Fit the new battery, allow a full charge to 4.2V, then attempt the transfer again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Leica Disto S910 powers on fine but shuts off the instant I start measuring — why does a charged battery cause this?
The laser module and the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth stack on the S910 draw a combined current spike at the moment of measurement that a worn cell cannot sustain. Even if the battery reads full, high internal resistance in a degraded cell causes the voltage to sag below the instrument's cutoff threshold under that load. This is a cell condition issue, not a firmware or sensor fault. Fit the replacement, charge fully to 4.2V, then run the post-install calibration cycle in the settings menu before your first measurement.
The Disto D810 Touch shows an inconsistent battery percentage — it jumps from 60% to 15% and back between readings. What's causing that?
The D810 Touch estimates charge state by reading the cell's resting voltage against a fixed lookup table. A new cell's voltage curve differs slightly from the worn original the instrument was calibrated against, so the percentage indicator recalibrates over the first several full charge and discharge cycles. This is normal and resolves itself — the display stabilises once the instrument has logged three or four complete cycles with the new cell. Run those cycles without interrupting charge, and let the battery reach 4.2V each time.
My Leica Disto S910 readings reset or freeze mid-session during continuous area calculations — is the battery causing this?
Sustained continuous measurement loads — especially multi-point area or volume calculations that keep the laser and processor active for extended periods — produce a steady current draw that can cause voltage dropout on a marginal cell. When the supply rail dips below the instrument's operating floor, the S910 resets its active calculation to protect data integrity. This is distinct from a single shutdown event — it points to the cell struggling under sustained load rather than a peak-draw trip. Replace the cell and confirm the new pack is reading above 3.7V at rest before starting a logging session.
