Fits Netgear Arlo Pro, Arlo Pro 2, and VMC4030 models; replaces OEM part A-1, A-1B, 308-10029-01, 308-10047-01.
7.4V, 2200mAh lithium-ion delivers the voltage and capacity your camera needs for full-day surveillance cycles without firmware cutoff.
Connector slides into the camera battery slot with standard polarity; locking tab seats flush against the camera housing.
We bench-tested this cell in the Arlo Pro frame; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held voltage stable under sustained IR LED draw.
On first install, power cycle the camera once through the app — firmware must register the new cell before motion recording triggers log correctly to cloud storage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Netgear Arlo Pro / Arlo Pro 2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A-1 / 308-10029-01)

This 7.4V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Netgear Arlo Pro, Arlo Pro 2, VMC4030, and VMS3230 wire-free security cameras. It fits the same compact housing and uses the same OEM part numbers A-1, A-1B, 308-10029-01, and 308-10047-01. Capacity is 2200mAh (16.28Wh) — matching factory spec.

  • Arlo Pro and Pro 2 compatibility: Both camera generations share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell covers the full VMC4030 and VMS3230 lineup alongside the named Pro models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Arlo Pro charging circuit and monitored BMS communication. The protection IC responded to charge termination and over-discharge cutoff within spec. No false trips on the motion-event current spike.
  • First-install power cycle: After inserting the battery, power cycle the camera once through the Arlo app. The firmware must re-register the cell before motion events log correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause missed clips even when the camera shows online.

Camera going offline in the Arlo app after a battery swap

Swapping the battery interrupts power long enough for the camera to drop its session token with the Arlo cloud. The app may show the camera as offline or unresponsive even though the LED indicates normal operation. This is a firmware re-registration issue, not a battery fault. Open the Arlo app, go to Device Settings, and use the Restart option to force the camera back online.

App reporting 0% or an incorrect charge percentage after install

The Arlo Pro uses a voltage-threshold indicator — it reads state of charge from cell voltage, not a fuel gauge IC. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed one full charge cycle will sit at an unfamiliar voltage point, and the app misreads it as empty or near-zero. Charge the battery fully in the camera until the LED turns solid green. After one complete charge-discharge cycle, the percentage display stabilises and reads accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Arlo Pro stops recording mid-clip and I keep finding incomplete footage — what's causing that?

Mid-clip recording cutoff on the Arlo Pro is almost always a WiFi reconnect current spike. When the camera briefly loses signal and renegotiates the connection, the combined draw of the processor, radio, and IR LEDs can trip the BMS over-current threshold momentarily. Move the camera closer to the router or add a WiFi extender within range. If the problem persists after improving signal, check that the battery voltage sits above 7.0V after a full charge — anything lower points to cell degradation, not signal.

Night vision works fine at dusk but the camera goes to sleep or stops responding by 3am — why?

Sustained IR LED draw overnight pulls more current than standard motion-triggered operation. If the cell has degraded even slightly, voltage sag under that continuous load pushes it below the BMS low-voltage cutoff, and the camera shuts down to protect the cell. A new cell at full charge holds voltage through the IR LED load without hitting that threshold. After installing this battery, run the camera through a full overnight cycle and check the app at 6am — charge percentage should still show above 20%.

My Arlo Pro's solar panel was keeping the battery topped up all summer, but now in winter the camera drains completely overnight — is the battery dead?

Solar output drops sharply in winter — shorter days, lower sun angle, and overcast skies can cut panel output by 60–70%. If the cell has discharged below the BMS re-entry voltage (approximately 6.0V on this 7.4V cell), the protection circuit locks out the charger entirely and the solar panel cannot recover it. Remove the battery and charge it directly via the Arlo magnetic charger until the LED confirms a full charge. Once the cell is above the re-entry threshold, the solar panel can resume normal top-up charging.
