It fits the Go Wireless Link module directly, restoring the unit's ability to transmit sensor data to computers and tablets during lab sessions. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec: 3.7V nominal, 0.85Wh.

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per month under storage conditions. After several months in a case, the cell voltage can drop below 3.0V — the point where most BMS circuits engage deep-discharge protection and lock the output. When this happens, the module will not power on and the charge LED may not respond. Connect the unit to a known-good USB charger and leave it for 30–60 minutes without interruption; most BMS circuits require a trickle recovery phase before they re-enable the main output path.

Readings drifting or logging session resetting mid-experiment

The Go Wireless Link sustains a continuous radio transmission load while sensors are active, and an aging or partially discharged cell can sag below the module's operating voltage threshold under that sustained draw. When voltage drops momentarily, the wireless link resets — which appears in the data as a gap, a drift artefact, or a full session restart. This is not a sensor fault. Fit a fresh cell and confirm resting voltage reads above 3.7V before starting a logging session to avoid mid-run dropouts.

The Go Wireless Link powers on fine but cuts out as soon as a sensor initialises — is this a BMS trip?

Yes. Sensor initialisation pulls a brief current spike as the probe module powers up, and a degraded or low cell can't sustain that draw — the BMS trips on overcurrent or undervoltage and cuts the output. The fix is a fresh cell at full charge. Before connecting any sensor, confirm resting cell voltage is at or above 3.7V; if it's below that after a full charge cycle, the cell has degraded past usable capacity.

The Go Wireless Link won't take a charge after sitting unused — charge LED does nothing when plugged in.

This is a BMS deep-discharge lockout. Below roughly 3.0V, the protection circuit disconnects the cell from the charge path entirely, so the charger sees no load and the LED stays dark. Plug into a USB power source rated at least 500mA and leave it connected for 45–60 minutes without unplugging — the BMS needs sustained low-current input to exit sleep mode before normal charging begins. If the LED still does not respond after 90 minutes, the cell has dropped below the BMS recovery threshold and needs replacement.

The battery percentage shown in the software jumps around erratically after fitting a new cell — what's wrong?

The Go Wireless Link maps its charge indicator to cell voltage thresholds, and a new cell's voltage curve doesn't match the calibration state the module stored from the old pack. Run two or three complete charge-and-use cycles with a sensor actively logging data; the indicator stabilises as the module re-maps the voltage curve to the new cell. Do not rely on the percentage readout for the first session — check that resting voltage is above 3.7V before each use until the display settles.
