Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DigiLand Quad Core 8" / DL8006 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PR-3797103)
This is a 3.7V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the DigiLand Quad Core 8" tablet and DL8006. It slots into the same footprint as the original PR-3797103 cell and restores power to the display, processor, and wireless radios. Capacity figures are drawn directly from the product specification — 4000mAh / 14.8Wh.
- Quad Core 8" and DL8006 compatibility: Both models share the same charge IC, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the PR-3797103 part number covers either board revision without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a DL8006 board. The BMS accepted the cell, thermal cutoff triggered correctly at ceiling voltage, and the protection circuit opened cleanly at low-voltage cutoff.
- Post-swap fuel gauge reset: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal use — screen on, Wi-Fi active — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference curve against the new cell and eliminates the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
The DigiLand's fuel gauge IC stores its discharge curve in memory calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell is fitted, the IC miscalculates the voltage-to-percentage relationship at the low end of the curve. The display and Wi-Fi radio together pull enough current to cause a voltage dip that the IC misreads as a dead cell — triggering shutdown well above true empty. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle the IC recalibrates and shutdown moves back to the correct low-voltage threshold near 3.4V per cell.
Battery percentage jumping or dropping faster than expected from 100%
Fuel gauge drift shows up as a percentage that drops sharply in the first 20% of use then slows, or reads 80% when the device actually has far less charge. The root cause is the same stored calibration curve — it no longer matches the real discharge profile of the new 4000mAh cell. A single full reference cycle — discharge to auto-shutoff, charge straight to 100% without interruption — writes a new baseline to the IC. If the reading still drifts after two full cycles, check that the charge voltage at the connector is reaching the expected 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DigiLand tablet still shows the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new PR-3797103 battery — is something wrong with the cell?
The cell is fine. The fuel gauge IC on the DL8006 board is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded battery. Run the tablet on normal use — screen on, Wi-Fi active — until it shuts itself off automatically, then charge it straight to 100% without unplugging. That single full cycle gives the IC a new reference curve and the percentage display corrects itself. If it still reads inaccurately after two complete cycles, confirm the charge voltage at the connector is reaching 4.2V.
Fast charging isn't available after swapping in the new battery — the tablet charges slowly even with the original charger.
After a battery swap, the charge IC needs one full accepted charge cycle before it re-negotiates the higher current rate with the charger. Plug in the original DigiLand adapter, let the tablet charge completely to 100% without interruption, then unplug and use it normally. On the next charge session the IC typically resumes the faster rate. If the slow charge persists after two full cycles, test with a known-good cable — a cable with high resistance will cap the charge current regardless of what the adapter can supply.
The DigiLand tablet gets noticeably warm near the battery area while charging after the replacement — is that normal?
Some warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is expected. The charge IC runs a conditioning profile on an unfamiliar cell, which briefly draws slightly more current than steady-state charging. The tablet should stay below 40°C to the touch — warm but not hot. If it becomes uncomfortable to hold or the device throttles performance mid-charge, remove the charger and let it cool to room temperature before resuming, then check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no pressure on the connector.
