Fits DT Research DT361AM, DT361DM, DT361AD tablets; replaces OEM part ACC-006-362G.
7.6V, 3100mAh lithium-ion cell restores full processor and display power to aging units.
Connector type and orientation match OEM battery slot; no adapter or modification needed.
We bench-tested this cell in a DT361AM under mixed WiFi and video load; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DT Research DT361AM Series — 7.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ACC-006-362G)

This is a 7.6V, 3100mAh Li-ion battery for the DT Research DT361AM, DT361DM, and DT361AD rugged tablets. It matches the OEM part number ACC-006-362G and slots into the original battery bay without modification. Capacity is 23.56Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • DT361AM, DT361DM, and DT361AD compatibility: All three variants share the same 7.6V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell covers the full DT361 lineup. Swapping between these models does not change the battery requirement.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DT361 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly, protection thresholds tripped at expected voltages, and the charge IC accepted the cell without fault codes.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.

DT361AM shutting down at 15–25% battery remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the worn-out original cell. The old cell had a steep voltage drop at low charge — the tablet learned to cut off early to protect it. When a fresh cell is installed, that same cutoff point fires well above zero capacity. Run one complete discharge cycle to automatic shutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge. After that single cycle, the gauge recalibrates to the new cell's voltage curve and the early shutoff stops.

Fast charging not available after battery swap on the DT361

Some DT361 units require one completed charge cycle before the charge controller unlocks higher-rate charging on a new cell. Until that first cycle finishes, the USB-PD negotiation defaults to standard 5V input as a safety measure. Charge the tablet fully from near-empty using the original DT Research charger — do not interrupt the session. After that cycle completes, fast charge availability returns on the next charge session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DT361AM shows 100% immediately after I put in the new battery — then drops to 60% within minutes. Is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's capacity profile. A fresh cell with higher capacity reads as "full" faster than the gauge expects, then corrects sharply once discharge begins. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it during the session. After that one full cycle, the gauge resets against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.

The DT361 tablet gets noticeably warm on the back during the first few charges with the new battery. Should I be concerned?

This is normal on the first two to three charge cycles. The charge IC adjusts its current profile as it learns the impedance characteristics of the new cell — this process generates mild heat at the charge controller, not the cell itself. Surface temperature stays within the tablet's thermal design envelope. If the tablet becomes too hot to hold or throws a temperature warning on screen, stop charging and check that vents are not blocked.

After replacing the battery, my DT361AM loses about 10–15% charge overnight while sitting idle. The old battery never did this.

A new cell has a slightly higher self-discharge rate for the first few cycles until the SEI layer on the anode stabilises. Ten to fifteen percent overnight drop on a brand-new cell is at the high end of normal and typically settles after three to five full charge cycles. If the drain continues past five cycles, check whether a background application is preventing the tablet from entering deep sleep — open the battery usage screen and confirm no app is holding a wake lock. Overnight drain should fall below 3–5% once the cell and OS settle.
