This is a 3.7V, 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery for the HP eStation Zeen tablet and the Photosmart eStation C510. It replaces OEM part number L02442001. Fits model references CQ720A and the eStation Zeen series directly.
- eStation Zeen and C510 platform fit: Both the Zeen tablet and the C510 all-in-one share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. The BMS handshake voltage thresholds are identical across CQ720A variants, so one cell covers the full model range listed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the eStation Zeen platform. The BMS accepted charge initiation without fault flags, held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold, and passed full capacity through the fuel gauge without tripping protection.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before use. The eStation's fuel gauge IC calibrates against the old cell profile — one full cycle resets it to the new cell and eliminates inaccurate percentage readings from the start.
eStation Zeen shutting down at 15–25% remaining
The eStation Zeen drives a backlit display and active WiFi simultaneously, which creates a combined load spike that the fuel gauge IC misreads as a voltage cliff. When the stored cell profile is stale — common after a battery swap — the IC triggers shutdown early rather than accurately tracking remaining charge. This is a calibration issue, not a cell defect. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the early-shutdown behaviour clears.
Fast charging unavailable on the eStation Zeen after a battery replacement
The eStation Zeen's charge IC negotiates charge rate during the first accepted cycle after a new cell is installed. Until that cycle completes, the system defaults to standard charge rate as a protection measure. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Charge the tablet fully once without interruption — after that initial accepted cycle, the charge IC re-establishes the correct rate profile for subsequent sessions.

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the eStation Zeen calibrates to the previous battery's discharge curve, so it loses track of the actual remaining charge after a swap. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle resets the IC's calibration against the new cell and stops the premature shutdowns.
The battery percentage on my eStation Zeen is jumping around after I replaced the battery — it went from 60% straight to 30% in minutes.
That erratic percentage drop is fuel gauge drift — the eStation's charge tracking IC is still using the old cell's capacity map. It hasn't yet measured the actual discharge curve of the replacement cell, so the reported numbers are unreliable. Do one complete discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise at the correct values.
Fast charging stopped working on my eStation Zeen after fitting the replacement battery — it's charging much slower than before.
The eStation Zeen's charge IC defaults to standard rate on the first cycle with a new cell until it completes one full accepted charge. This is a built-in protection step, not a fault in the replacement cell. Charge the tablet to 100% without interrupting the session. On subsequent charges, the IC restores the normal charge rate automatically.
