Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Intermec CV61, CV61A, and 1011CM01 models; replaces OEM part numbers VE027-8018-A0 and A011AB01.
Delivers 7.4V and 2600mAh capacity; powers full field shifts on inventory and asset management devices.
Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted charge immediately; voltage climbed steady to 8.4V without cutoff flags.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Intermec CV61 / CV61A — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VE027-8018-A0)

This 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Intermec CV61 and CV61A mobile computers, as well as the 1011CM01 variant. These rugged handheld units run warehouse and field data-collection workflows, and a degraded cell will cause the device to cut out mid-task. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.

  • CV61, CV61A, and 1011CM01 fit: All three share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full CV61 platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a CV61 unit. The BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, reported state-of-charge correctly after a calibration cycle, and held voltage within spec under sustained Wi-Fi and scanning load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run the CV61 down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single full cycle resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage reading that almost always appears after a pack swap.

CV61 shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap

The CV61's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell with a slightly different curve causes the IC to miscalculate the remaining capacity cliff. When the display backlight, Wi-Fi radio, and barcode scanner run simultaneously, current draw spikes and the battery management system trips the cutoff before the gauge reaches zero. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. That single cycle re-anchors the gauge to the new cell's actual voltage curve and stops the premature shutdowns.

CV61 percentage dropping faster than expected from 100%

This is gauge drift — the IC is still mapping charge levels against the old cell's capacity profile. The new 2600mAh cell holds more energy than the gauge expects at each voltage step, so it counts down faster near the top of the range. The fix is the same calibration cycle: discharge fully to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the percentage display stabilises and tracks actual remaining capacity correctly from 100% down.

Frequently Asked Questions

The CV61 shows 100% immediately after I install the new battery — is the fuel gauge broken?

No — the gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve and misreads the new pack's voltage as full straight away. Run the CV61 down to automatic shutoff without forcing it off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That one full cycle re-anchors the IC to the new cell and the percentage display will track correctly from that point.

My CV61 cuts off at around 20% and won't restart until I plug it in — what's happening?

Under combined load — display, Wi-Fi, and scanner active at the same time — the current draw spikes enough to hit the BMS cutoff voltage before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The gauge IC is still mapped to the old cell's curve, so it reads 20% while the new cell is actually much lower. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle then charge uninterrupted to 100% to recalibrate the IC. After that, the cutoff voltage and the gauge reading will align.

The CV61 gets noticeably warm during the first few charges with this new battery — should I stop charging?

Warmth during the first two or three charge cycles is normal. The charge IC on the CV61 applies a conditioning current to a new cell as it characterises the pack's internal resistance for the first time. Surface temperature will drop to the normal range once those initial cycles complete. If the unit becomes hot to the touch or the charge does not complete, check that the contact pins on the battery bay are clean and fully seating against the pack.
