Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT585ABA)
This is a 3.8V, 6000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016). It fits the SM-T580 and SM-T585, covering both the WiFi-only and TD-LTE variants. Direct swap for the original EB-BT585ABA when the existing cell no longer holds adequate charge for daily use.
- SM-T580 and SM-T585 compatibility: Both the WiFi and LTE versions of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) use the same battery housing, connector, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell voltage, physical dimensions (144.80 × 119.30 × 3.50mm), and charge IC communication are identical across both SKUs.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an SM-T585 unit. The BMS accepted the initial charge without fault codes, and the charge IC communicated correctly with the board through the full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force-shutdown — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single full cycle resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a swap.
Why the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 shuts down at 15–25% remaining
Under combined load — screen at full brightness, active WiFi, and background sync — the Tab A 10.1 draws enough current to create a voltage sag the fuel gauge IC misreads as a near-empty cell. The board triggers a protective shutdown before the actual cell capacity is exhausted. This happens more often with a degraded original battery, but also appears with a new cell if the fuel gauge has not been recalibrated. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle after installation corrects the gauge reference point and eliminates most early-shutdown events.
Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on SM-T580
The Tab A 10.1 uses Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging protocol, which requires the charge IC to complete at least one accepted charge handshake before the device enables higher charge rates. Immediately after a battery swap, the controller may default to standard 5V charging while it re-establishes this negotiation. Plug in the original Samsung charger — not a generic USB-C adapter — and allow a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. Fast charge availability typically restores on the second or third cycle once the protocol handshake is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Tab A 10.1 shows 80% battery right after I fitted the new cell — is the percentage accurate?
No — the fuel gauge IC on the SM-T580/T585 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The percentage reading will drift or jump until recalibration is complete. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without forcing a manual power-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single full cycle, the gauge locks onto the new cell's actual voltage range and the percentage display stabilises.
The tablet gets noticeably warm near the charging port while charging the new battery — should I stop?
Warmth at the charge IC area during the first few cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is expected. The charge controller is running a conditioning profile — slightly elevated temperature is part of normal CC/CV charging, not a fault. If the heat is concentrated at the battery itself rather than the board, or if the device gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop and inspect the connector seating. Otherwise, let the first charge complete to 100% uninterrupted.
Battery percentage drops fast from 100% to around 70%, then slows down — what's causing that?
This is fuel gauge drift, not a capacity problem. The IC's stored discharge model doesn't match the new cell yet, so it overcounts capacity loss at the top of the charge curve. The drop slows because the model partially corrects itself mid-cycle. One full discharge-to-automatic-shutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the reference curve. If the uneven drop persists beyond three full cycles, check that the original Samsung charger is being used — a mismatched charger voltage can introduce inconsistent readings at the gauge IC.
